  • Cheap Cctv

I'm thinking about getting a CCTV system to cover out driveway and the side fence of the house (can you film your fence and a bit of the public highway?).

I don't want to spend alot of money.

I've had a video camera up on the driveway, but having it on permanantly is starting to damage the screen in the eyepiece, and its a pain switching it to 'infrared' mode every night. (I've taken it down recently to let it 'recover')

The recording system I used was a single input video capture card in the computer, linked to a motion capture program.

I would like to expand the system to 2 or 4 cameras, with motion capture, but have small outdoor cameras that do both day and night filming without having to adjust them.

Even better, I'd like a system that I can easily dismantle to take to a new house (if we ever manage to sell). Do wireless CCTV systems exist?

If anyone has experience of installing CCTV, I would be grateful for any cheap recommendations that fit the above.

    Cheers, FF

    Hi freaky

Never installed anything like that in my life, but have had a scout about for you.

But, I think we have members who actually have experience and knowledge of CCTV's, so you might be better waiting for them to come along.

I recently bought a digital surveylance card on e-bay for £70.
How does that plug into the computer? My PC has no GFX card slot.
