| Neighbours From Hell in Britain (NFHiB): Forum Guidelines (Important Note: The NFHiB Forum Guidelines and NFHiB Privacy Policy should both be read in conjunction with each other). NB: URL Links within these guidelines will not open in a new browser window. Welcome to 'Neighbours From Hell in Britain' (or otherwise known as 'NFHiB'), at nfh.org.uk. We hope you enjoy many happy hours here and find our forum community welcoming, useful and supportive. We primarily exist to empower you with many forms of neighbour-related advice and help available via the forum community; we are sure that you will find the forum extremely valuable. It is very important that we outline what we will do to keep you safe and do for you as a member within our responsibilities and what we expect in return. This is why we have carefully developed and implemented our forum guidelines which are detailed here. We feel this is a fair exchange. Use of the NFHiB Forum is totally free; our environment of 'Support for all, which is free for all' is extremely important within our online community and like any other neighbourhood, we have to ensure that we consistently, honestly and fairly apply our guidelines with all NFHiB members, at all times. If you haven't read the NFHiB Welcome Post yet, this is a good place to start (it contains useful information and advice on how to get started). With the most important 'Welcome' out of the way, we'd like to remind you that on registration to the NFHiB Forum, you agreed to the following statement: NFHiB Forum Terms Of Use: General Neighbours From Hell in Britain (NFHiB) exists to provide information which is general and does not represent any form of professional or legal advice. All NFHiB users have the responsibility to check any advice or information contained at nfh.org.uk before they use it and first take appropriate advice from a trained/qualified legal professional (solicitor, lawyer or conveyancer, etc). NFHiB will not be liable for any consequences leading from the use of the NFHiB site or forum. Further information concerning this is detailed below. You remain solely responsible for the content of your forum board/website based messages at all times. You further agree, by your ongoing use of the Neighbours From Hell in Britain forum board, to indemnify and hold harmless and/or blameless this community, Neighbours From Hell in Britain and its administration team/owners if any action (legally based or not) is taken against you for the content of your forum board messages or any 'communication' you display at nfh.org.uk. You also agree that any of our administration/support team or agents, with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your forum board message(s) will also be held blameless for any resulting circumstances or action that may arise from such messages. Your ongoing participation in the Neighbours From Hell in Britain forum community and all website areas signifies your understanding, compliance and agreement with these complete forum guidelines listed here. Should you not agree with these guidelines you cannot continue to use the Neighbours From Hell in Britain forum boards and you must refer to our Privacy Policy to request that we permanently delete your member account. Reporting of Forum Board/Website Based Messages Should any member, visitor or user of the Neighbours From Hell in Britain Forum Community or Website Areas wish to complain about any message or online material viewed on the forum or website or make us aware because of any other reason, you should inform us immediately by using the e-mail contact: NFHiB@nfh.org.uk. We will take immediate action (within a reasonable time frame) to investigate the matter, look into your concerns and take steps to remedy the situation if we feel this is appropriate. We may need to communicate with you further to ascertain more details and information before we take action; we reserve the right to take these actions listed or any other we feel to be appropriate in each case. Any NFHiB Forum Member who feels that a posted message could be objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by using the online 'Report this Post' option following each topic (bottom of page). Neighbours From Hell in Britain have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. Please do not use the 'Report' post function to contact or communicate with the NFHiB Support Team for other reasons or to pass on any other generalised information. Posting Content to the NFHiB Forum Community & General Communication We have worked hard to ensure that NFHiB is a safe, welcoming and consistently pleasant environment. In itself this is not always an easy task and the NFHiB Support Team have the role of overseeing this most important aspect of our online presence. The NFHiB Support Team have the authority to implement whatever measures they see fit within our online environment to uphold these forum guidelines and are within the role because of their integrity, fairness and personal skills. Please respect their decision, even if you do not agree with it. Please discuss any continuing issues with a member of the NFHiB Support Team directly via Personal Message (PM), not publicly on the forum. Your Forum Posts: Try to ensure that you post your new topic in the correct forum category. If in doubt, please ask any of the NFHiB Support Team for advice first. We will move posts to the correct areas that have been placed in the wrong sections of the forum. By following these tips, you are helping to get a better response and reply to your topic or post:
Please always avoid posting names of specific people involved in your NFH (Neighbour From Hell) situation. The NFHiB Support Team cannot allow this. Any messages (that we are aware of), that clearly identify or name individuals, groups or any other associated party involved in your NFH situation or circumstances will be edited and/or removed. NFHiB must ensure that this doesn't happen, wherever possible, (identification of individuals or other parties) as it could cause serious problems and could have wide-reaching legal implications for you or others. Please avoid posting too many details about yourself (you don't need to use your full name if you don't want to) - e.g. your home address, telephone number, etc. This is a publicly accessible website with forum community and your details may be viewed or seen by others. Be wise and be safe, always. If in doubt, please ask us first for advice. If you are currently involved in any proceedings regarding your NFH situation then please do not detail the case on here as it could seriously affect your case. You may be able to generalise and post basic details, but you must be very aware as to how much you reveal; we advise you to take further qualified and professional legal advice before posting any such details on the forum and we will not accept any responsibility for any outcomes resulting from your posts or information given. Remember, anything that could reveal any persons or parties identity or details is not desirable and may be illegal - this may also jeopardise any pending case or situation you might have with any neighbour or other party. You could also give away valuable information about your case that might be used against you. We are not trained legal professionals and you should seek appropriate professional legal advice from a qualified solicitor, conveyancer or other legal professional for further advice. Offensive, inappropriate/derogatory comments or information within posts/topics will be removed and edited where required. In extreme cases, a post or topic will be closed or permanently removed from the main forum community view. Members will be informed, wherever possible, of why such action has occurred. If a member persists in future similar action, after reasonable requests not to, we may suspend the membership temporarily/permanently and apply a 'pre-moderation' of the account (e.g. a member of the NFHiB Support Team will be required to authorise any future posts/topics before they appear 'live' on the forum). Please do not post images or data that you are not entitled to post, this may be in breach of copyright law (e.g. posting an image/photograph/article etc, that you do not have copyright permission for). Any posting that contravenes this will be removed or edited. You further agree not to post details (URL) of any website (WWW) address in any of your NFHiB messages (including profile/signature and any other appropriate forum areas) that link to an external website which has any objectionable, 'adult-based' or illegal material. Whether or not this website is owned/controlled by you or any other, they will be removed without warning if we become aware of such URL links. Please read the Online Help ("FAQ") at the NFHiB Forum if you need any more general technical forum board help - there is a comprehensive help section here for using the NFHiB Community. The Forum Help category is also invaluable for more details and tutorials available. Your Communication: Please do not use explicit, or abusive language. We are a family friendly website. Those members that post using such language will have their posts removed or edited (we may or may not advise you of this in advance or after the fact). Please do not ever 'personally attack' any forum member, although we all have our own opinions and ideas and these are respected, these kinds of personally aimed postings will not be tolerated. Please keep your postings friendly and well-mannered. Members that persist in posting unsuitable messages, after being warned by The NFHiB Support Team, will be banned either temporarily or permanently (at our discretion). Personal comments or remarks made in any post/topic that could be offensive, negatively based or inappropriate in any manner to the reader may be removed or edited where required. Such comments could be deliberately made or written without due care and thought. Some examples of inappropriately made personalised comments to any member might include sarcastic and negative posts, 'belittling', threats or threatening behaviour, 'online bullying', deliberately non-constructive or negative opinion, undermining another member with obvious intent to dismiss them or their opinion or attempts to incite an argument or 'flame war' ("when an online discussion degenerates into a series of personal attacks against the debaters, rather than discussion of their positions and becomes a heated exchange"). Inappropriate communication via the topic areas or personal messaging system will not be tolerated in any circumstances. Member accounts may be restricted temporarily or permanently where this kind of behaviour comes to our attention. Please try and discuss topic matters within a topic itself, rather than approach other members in private via the PM (Personal Messaging) system. When a topic is explored further with any relevant information and advice given openly on the community, it is then available for other forum members to read and the whole membership benefits. Remember the golden rule, if something would upset you to read, then it will probably upset others. If in doubt, leave the content out altogether. Member Accounts Each person on the NFHiB Forum, must have their own membership. The 'sharing' of an account by more than one person is not permitted. Accounts are free to sign up, there's no reason not to have your own! It is a mandatory condition, that all members uphold these forum guidelines and registration terms of use (as above and stated on our initial registration pages), in order to remain as a member at NFHiB. If it is believed that any account is being shared, the NFHiB Support Team reserves the right to ban, restrict or delete that account without notice. Please do not give your password out to other people, as this leaves you open to abuse (e.g. any breaches of your membership will be your responsibility). Where it is discovered that members are involved in this practice, all memberships used in these situations will be restricted or deleted. Similarly, please don't sign up multiple memberships (e.g. more than one for yourself). Where the NFHiB Team discover an individual has done this, the original/initial (e.g. oldest and first) membership will be retained and the subsequent sign ups will be deleted. All memberships belonging to one person may be deleted or restricted, depending on each situation. If you have a genuine reason for requiring an additional membership, please let us know. When you join NFHiB, we insist that you do so using a valid e-mail address only. If necessary, your e-mail address will be checked and any member deliberately using a incorrect e-mail address will be asked to rejoin using a valid e-mail address. This is not to infringe on your privacy, but to protect all members from abusive or potentially damaging message posts. Where we become aware that a member has a currently invalid e-mail address, we will place that membership in the 'Un-Verified E-Mails' group category to alert them of this fact. You cannot delete your NFHiB Forum Membership - for details on how to do this, please refer to the Privacy Policy - 'NFHiB Forum Community' section. If you require a member name change (there is no need to re-register another account), we can do this on your behalf. If you have made posts prior to a name change these will be automatically attributed to your new member name and will not be lost in a name change. Please contact any of the NFHiB Support Team and let them know, with your reason for the request. Offensive member names will be changed without member-consultation and as soon as reasonably possible. The NFHiB Privacy Policy outlines further information concerning your privacy and security, we will reiterate this here as we feel it's important: Your Neighbours From Hell in Britain forum account is password protected, only you have access to that password and we can not view your password or e-mail it to you (they are stored securely in the database in an encrypted fashion, using 'MD5' encryption). You can change your password/e-mail settings for your forum account at any time by following the automated online instructions (e.g. to change e-mail address when logged on to the forum, follow the link to 'User CP' and then select 'Edit EMail & Password'). Please Note: In any cases, where a NFHiB 'Privileged Member' has their membership withdrawn permanently or temporarily (due to misuse of the NFHiB Forum or any breach of the NFHiB Forum Guidelines), we will not refund all or any part of the 'Privileged Member' payment, this will be forfeited. Spamming: Please do not repeatedly or even on a single occasion, post messages advertising your paid/business services/products or any commercially-based advertisements (including media-based requests) or any other web site or forum's details/URL (including a deliberate attempt to solicit members to another forum community, BBS or website). You may not do this via the NFHiB Forum Community through forum posting, e-mails or the Personal Messaging (PM) system. You may not use the NFHiB Forum, in any way, to solicit (or attempt to) any NFHiB members/users to engage or use you (or your company, etc) for any service or product, in exchange for financial or material reward (i.e. 'paid services') OR to attempt to 'recruit' existing NFHiB members to other internet based forum boards or 'BBS' systems. Where this comes to our attention, involved memberships will be permanently banned immediately, without warning or further discussion. Continuous, rapid, inappropriate posting (e.g. one line replies) may also be considered to be spam material (e.g. with the sole intent of increasing a total post count per member). If you are a media professional and wish to place an advertisement or media request on the NFHiB Forum, then please read the Media Contact forum area for further information and how you must e-mail your request for consideration. Media professionals who are forum members must not, under any circumstances first approach any member via the PM system to ask for their input with any media project. To do so, will be considered to be 'unsolicited' contact and we will take necessary action. NFHiB Members may not promote or advertise their own business, promotional interest or own web site (personal www sites are permissible within member signatures) through the Personal Messaging system or via the forum topic areas without first checking with the NFHiB Support Team as to the appropriateness of these actions. Spam content will be deleted without warning and may lead to further action to restrict your NFHiB forum membership. Member Conduct Members are expected to treat each other with respect and not cause disruption to the NFHiB Forum Community. Remember, there is a real person behind the computer keyboard, with real feelings and real reactions to what you may write. 'Attacking', in any way, another NFHiB Forum Member (including any member of the NFHiB Support Team) and/or the whole NFHiB website and forum boards, will result in a warning and possibly a ban. Any such attacks that come to the attention of the NFHiB Support Team that are taking place on or off the NFHiB Forum Board (e.g. including, but not exclusively listing, over e-mail, 3rd party based website's or forums/newsgroups etc) will all be considered relevant. The NFHiB Support Team will consider the facts/information available, deciding any consequences within each situation separately and make decisions as they feel necessary. Where a member has been requested to follow specific procedures after a complaint has been lodged/highlighted and they refuse to do so (without good reason) then they risk being banned permanently from using the NFHiB Forum Services without further notice. If a member of the NFHiB Support Team has contacted you via Personal Message (PM) or via e-mail to raise a 'member conduct' issue, we would appreciate an appropriate response or acknowledgement of the communication. Otherwise we may have to assume that any communication has been deliberately ignored. Hacking or Attempts to Violate NFHiB Security: We will take the strongest action possible where we discover and trace any attempt of 'hacking', 'flooding' or other 'security violation' that originates from any NFHiB site or forum user/visitor. We will use and access nfh.org.uk site logs where appropriate to trace/help locate any perpetrator(s) involved. We reserve the right to contact the appropriate authorities, including Police, ISP's and other agencies where appropriate. We will investigate, as fully as possible, any incident that comes to our attention and may take further legal advice to assist us further. Profile Options The following options are all accessible via your 'User CP' section of the NFHiB Forum. Avatars: ("A graphical image of a user or representation of member personality/interest, etc, intended to make the computing environment a more friendly place"). You have a choice of either using a pre-selected 'Avatar' with your NFHiB account or you may upload one of your choice. Please follow these guidelines:
Dependent on your member group, you will be able to upload a photo of yourself in your member profile. You will be guided as to file size and photo dimensions via your 'User CP' settings. Before uploading a personal photo, consider first whether or not you wish to be identified by others who may view it. Signatures: By adding a 'signature' into your profile via the 'Edit Signature' option in 'User CP' you have the option of adding in a personalised signature within all your posts automatically (displayed at the end of each post). Please follow these guidelines (we will edit signatures that don't meet these requirements or ask the member to rectify the issue):

Only registered members (who have a minimum of 5 posts) at the NFHiB forum can access the live chat service. We ask all NFHiB members using this service to respect these Live Chat guidelines to make everyone's use of the chat room as pleasant and enjoyable an experience as possible:
NB: The NFHiB Support Team can 'kick' and 'ban' users from the live chat services for inappropriate behaviour and for failing to attempt to uphold these guidelines. Changes to these Guidelines The Neighbours From Hell in Britain administration and Support Team reserve the right to interpret and add to these forum guidelines at any time or in each specific circumstance needed as they believe to be appropriate. Any NFHiB member or user who causes us (NFHiB) any loss or damage through any misuse of the nfh.org.uk web site or forum, must reimburse us for any costs which we may incur as a result of their action. Please check this page regularly for any changes as we also reserve the right to make additions or alterations to any of these forum guidelines.
