Rattle and Hum?? Not getting that one!
Sadly the Eastenders scriptwriters wouldn't know an east end psyche if they found it up their ****.
The characters in this and every other soap are nothing more than cyphers for ever more spurious plot lines. The characters are unbelievable because they are no longer true and three dimensional. Characters are no longer true to how they've developed. Plot is strung around characters - however loose the fit.
Drama is character based not plot based. Good drama comes from written character and character developement from a trained actor or naturally competent actor and not people who parade themselves as 'actors' yet in reality couldn't act themselves out of a paper bag - which is where I would like to put the whole dirty great big lot of them. These so called 'actors' only memorise lines - and some can't even do that, they also emote a little, but mostly they emote a lot, going completely over the top, acting 'big' as if in a pantomime and having to get their totally vacuous point across over three hundred screaming children shouting 'Behind You'.
TV soaps are also dangerous. Three million points on this, but here's one. TV soaps are responsible for making us believe that extra marital affairs are the norm, as everyone in a soap has one sooner or later unless they're stereotypical old folk. Lazy scriptwriting dictates that this must be so.
...............................
Love you really Matthew!!!!!!!!!!!
All of the above directed at TV soap producers not Matthew!!!!!!! http://www.nfh.org.uk/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif http://www.nfh.org.uk/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

lots of walt disney videos,a couple of mad max videos, some Beatles vids in b/w.
only fools and horses vids.
The Dambusters. in black+white video.
I also own a quite good collection of jeremy clarkson vids,if you like fast cars.
we also have almost all the episodes of auf wiedersehen pet on dvd.
sounds like a sexually transmitted disease dont it.
Well vern m8 keep postin,I like you and i think the others do too
so its BOOGERLOO TO YOU, omg its catching.Matthew help, i got verns disease.
hello mrun happy, no i have nut seen clockwork orange.....was the original lolita film by kubrick?...i think it was.that was a retorical question.. i was thinking what kubrick films do i know.
Now i'm thinking corr it was a log day and i'm tired, now i think i might yawn...oh...whoop theres it goes...i just yawned...guess thats a sign i must be tired.
i have forgotten if i had a moral for this post, but having something to say hasn't stopped me putting a post before so it shouldn't be a problem now.
when i got my dvd player i became fanatic and bought a film every few weeks, films rool...especially good ones...escapism gut ja, vicariousnessness too.
haven't bought any for ages...but theres still 3 and half films sitting on the shelf unwatched.
Looking at the shelf i see the "Lawm Dogs" dvd hiding at the end...i thought that was a fantabulous film...something different ...just enjoyable to watch.
it doesn't mean anything if your reading this, but i just got distracted for a half hour again during writing this post...reading about maria shaparova(who?)
blablawibble the end.(got to save something, i'll make the fourth page if i have to do all the posts).
and yes...i yawned agen.

Ooh, I remember going to see A Clockwork Orange at a tiny little cinema in Bath. I remember the first scene vividly and thought I'd hate to live in a society like that - and guess what? Yes, we're there!!!! They banned it for 25 years, didn't they? Oops, giving away my age now http://www.nfh.org.uk/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif

I'll be watching Location, Location, Location revisited tonight.
Watched some DVD's last weekend:
28 Days Later - so so, a bit gory in parts
The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood - get your tissues out
Insomnia - made me fall asleep, yawn....
i nut seen those...
i saw henman lose..poor old henman...i hope he does win it.
i also saw on daytime t.v. viewable as my leg is being non co-operative in the not hurting stakes.....some prog about ppl's ..and the way huw-mans are unique in getting pleasure/morosenessness from watching others do sport ..vicarious adreniline...interesting "why do some of us get involved and care about something that has nothing to do with our lives".
good luck henman

Strange you say that Vernon - I often wonder what pleasure there is to be had from watching geezers kick and throw/hit balls about - as for watching geezers running round a track and jumpoing over hurdles... BLAH!!!!!!!!!!! To me mind numbing. Maybe it's displaced competitevness (typo?) The safety of other people fighting our perceived battles for us in the great game of life???
Time for a drink...
blah is right...i still like watching tennis though, i reckons there are a squillion things that can't be explained (e.g. how on earth is a dingbat like george "oil" bush u.s.a. president.unbelieable)
escapist would be me guessing...whatever you do its nice to imagine doing something else...same as films and books...enjoyable to be totally somewhere else for a while....pete sampras day-dreams of making great choix pastry.
i have no proof for that last comment.
no offence to dingbats.
