I watched a diy programme with 2 women in it. Forgot the name though. They used washing powder, and scrubbed the floor with the dry powder than used a cloth and hot water to finish off.

The floor looked spotless, I,m going to have a go on ours, because mopping with the floor stuff looks no different.

do a test area somewhere first just in case it doesnt work
let us know if it works i agree with you regular floor cleaners dont always have any effect although johnsons soapy wood cleaner does give a temporary shine :thumbs:

Hi everyone,

When I say wooden floor boards I mean the basic floor boards in a 1930s semi. Nothing fancy, or sealed. Mine are old grotty floor boards in this area, and I decided they needed a quick fix being in my hall way. They have not being fitted very well with gaps, and nails bent all over the place.

I will be having carpet, or laminate later, but decided to try this for now.
