Hi guys,

I,ve finally found my premises. Its a stone building on the middle of the main high street.

Its got a L shaped room that leads to a small storage area, and a toilet. The upstairs room can be used as the staff area/ storage room.

The only downside is having to get a mortgage to start the business. I,ve no savings, and I dont want any one else owning part of the venture. The business woman at the bank, didn't even want a meeting, just said it would be better to get a mortgage.

Any way I will post some pictures later.

GG.

Excellent news GG  i hope it all works out for you :clover: It might be worth your while having a chat to a couple of Independent financial advisors, if you arent getting any joy from the banks.
Hope everything runs smoothly for you

This is just a rough idea of what the shop looks like, none of the stuff is mine. Every thing is getting removed then I can do my thing.

I adore the shop front, and will be adding flower baskets and a plant to the front.

I am going to be selling books at the store, and on my web sites. Also thinking of selling music cds.

Trying to think of other side lines to complement the books.

I have 5 charity shops, a supermarket, and a new book store at the top of the street selling new books.

I can stop people giving so many books to the charity shops, by offering cash for them. That way they do the leg work, and I can pick and choose which books I want.

The supermarket has cheap but a limited range of books.

The book store competing with me only sells new books, and has no interest in selling on the internet.

Also she is at the very top of the street where not many people go. And its going to be a desert soon, because of a large cafe and shop next to her being demolised.

A large complex behind her is knocked down, and even the school in front of her is empty, because they have built a new one.

I feel sorry for her, but I suppose we all make choices and that is that.

Hi GG

There is a big second hand book shop in my town. They sell alot of second hand text books to students. They make a fortune and have just opened up a second shop.

I know that they go to car boots and such to find really good old bargin books.

Next time I am in town I will have a proper nosey around and find out if they sell anything other than books.
