hi

We, the JJ brood went to watch today. My kids loved it, it was excellent. I was a little apprehensive as I am not overly fond of Tim Burton, however, I loved it. Johnny Depp was excellent and the whole thing was surreal but really entertaining.

recommend it for all!!

Oh ......... and a scary trailer for harry Potter and the goblet of fire made it even better!!!!!

Hi Tact

Have not decided whether the original is better. They are so different. Both have the contemporary twists, ( obviously refering to the eras they were made) We as a family LOVE the original, my littly watches it daily..( well, it feels like it..)

I did love the songs in this re-make, and the umperlumpas are very ''''tongue-in-cheek'''........

Do you rememeber the programme 'Robins Nest'???, Well the one armed Irish friend is Grampa in it, and also, one of the Grandma's is 'Nana' from the Royale Family..great British cast... james fox....

Hubby and I LOVE the original film, even though hubby was scared of the oompaloopmas first time he watched it, in his late twenties I might add (quote: "they're just wrong...")

I can't wait to see it, hubby is apprehensive. Nice to know you guys enjoyed it!!! :D

 Took Little Miss Annabel to see this on Saturday, dragged Mr Hubby Annabel along too...hes not a big book reader but even he has read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory....he laughed more than me and LMA!!!

I thought the film was great, much closer to the book than the 1971 film and far superior IMO. I loved the twist in the story giving you background on Willy Wonka, and honestly Jonny Depp was just superb, :notworthy: so weird and freaky!!!

Definitely one for the DVD collection!!!
