So proud of my Little T.
He missed a year of swimming lessons at school because of medical problems and only started back this year.
He got his 5m and 10m last month and today got his 15m!! He was so excited!
Bless him.
Had to share it with you. He tried for his 25m, but was tired from 2 hour sports day and 2 hour sports club. I don't think his legs wanted to know!

Hi Tortoise, you must be well chuffed!
I can only swim one length before my arms drop off. I used to hate swimming lessons at school. Sounds like Little T is really enjoying it!
To Banana - little Banana has got the right attitude!

Aw.. thanks you lot!  He really does inspire me, he has all these problems and he just gets on with it. The innocence of being a child!
I can't swim either!!
Banana yep Little T does wear aids in both ears and has done since he was 22 months. He has profound hearing loss in the high frequency. I will pm you and we can have a chat about it.

So proud - again!!
Little T got his 25m today
The rest of the kids had fun day as it was the last swimming lesson for the term, but LT wanted to try and get his 25m. He tried 8 times and apparently the people in the pool were all cheering him on!!
Very emotional! :D

My poor LT. :(
Some horrible child jumped on him today and cut his chin. We had to take him to the hospital as the school called us. :(
He was very brave and has had to have the cut glued and steri strips put on it!
The boy who did it has been excluded from school for the rest of the term.
Apparently there was blood everywhere!
He will end up with a scar like Harrison ford has on his chin now, so we are calling him Indiana Jones!
Not a very happy mum today, but very proud he didn't punch the little herbert back! Not like his parents at all!
Why do you feel so bad when people hurt your kids. I am so mad
Poor little LT
Hope hes feeling abit better....

Ouch! Poor little T. It's horrible, but he will bounce back - look at how he handles everything else! :D
hi t
aww bless him poor little t has got a battle scar
tell him we are all proud of him for being so brave
i think sometimes parents feel it worse than the children they do tend to bounce back fairly well most of the time :)

Thanks all of you.
He is a bit shaken at the moment and staying at home today.
He will bounce back hopefully. He goes to a different school in September so hopefuuly will get sorted!
We had the same problems as you Banana, it's like banging your head against a brick wall. :banghead:
T xxx
Poor little man
I am sure he will feel lots better with a day off with his Mom.
Off the subject abit but is bullying now a main problem in schools.... i thought the schools had policies and it would be dealt with really quickly.
I think i might have to home teach...
Congrats to tortoise & Dibuzz for not beating the parents of these horrid kids...
hi all
bk i think bullying in schools is an issue which is just skirted around a bit like nfh's
most schools have an anti bullying policy but it isnt really effective
an example my oldest daughter suffered harrasment for two years from a particular girl nothing was done meetings achieved zilch the girl had special needs so that was always the get out :banghead:
in the end i withdrew her from school and she had a home tutor for the last six months she scraped through her exams and managed to get passes( just)
in hindsight i wish i had taken her out of school long before so i fully agree with banana

Thanks for all your kind words.
I know a scar - how macho!!
His attacker had already kicked him in the side last week and bruised him. I went to the school to complain as he actually had marked LT.
I was reassured that this child would be kept in at lunchtime as he had also attacked other children.
For complex reasons involving LT's health, which caused some behaviourial problems at school he was placed on part time education last year. He went back in June of last year with a Teaching Assistant employed to give him 1:1 support for 30 hours a week.
LT is watched very closely and therefore was not allowed to retaliate when this child kicked him last week.
Yesterday LT was sitting in the classroom and this child jumped on his back. LT got up and chased him and this is when the child cut LT's chin. LT didn't manage to get in a punch!
This child was excluded for the rest of the term (Friday), but the school admitted that he had been "out of control" all day. So if that was the case why didn't they send him home earlier? He also broke his childminders car window and attacked another child in her care!
Apparently he has "problems". So his parents should be working with the Local Education Authority to find the right placement for him.
We have got LT into a Special Needs School through sheer determination and fighting for a year. He goes in Sept and he can't wait.
I think the whole system needs a rethink. That is why I left teaching, I used to teach at LT's school. Some of the children and parents have problems there big time!

We could inform the police if we wanted, but they told us that nothing would probably happen as he is a minor and it happened in the playground! Also the child has disabilities. I said so has LT, but they said it is difficult to intervene in "playground incidents!"
I know I have referred to the incident as assault and nothing less. If someone on the street did it they would be arrested. As the school have excluded him it becomes an in house matter!
Hospital logged it all down though.
