New Nfh

I have new NFH, they are the creepy crawlies (ants) that came uninvited to my garden lawn and set up their home without permission!! I have tried driving them out with a bit of magic powder, but they just start a new nest somewhere else, originally there were only the red ones, yesterday I discovered that they have invited their black cousins to the party as well :angry: I seem to be doing this every other week, and they keep coming back, feels like I am fighting a loosing battle

They are not noisy, don't create a racket, but in the process of opening up their nest and sprinkeling the magic powder on them, I think I might have damage the lawn somewhat, it now looks like it is suffering from skin disease, patchy and bald on some areas. :sad:

As you can tell, not really a gardening person, anyone knows the secret to keeping a good lawn, how do you level the ground? get rid of unwanted NFH (garden wise) and just keep it in a good condition generally.

Brilliant!! Problem is, GF loves a garden and BF needs to sort it out.
Let me rephrase the last bit, not a gardening person but would love to keep a decent garden (no, not hiring a gardener either if that is what you are thinking ;-))

How should I put this, would love to keep the lawn and but trying to find way to manage the creepy crawlies without slabbing it. :-)
