Hi all
If my NFH was on a show like that then it would be a ratings winner..............with any luck the authorities would condem them to a life in a mental institute...........because thats where they belong.

Not one of the "b*ggers" considered themselves to be partly to blame for their situation. They all blindly saw themselves as the victims and didn't see why they should modify their behaviour in the slightest

:) Exactly my words DG. :(
Most NFH are the same.....mine still to this day think themselves 'the victims' ....trouble is they don't they possess a conscience  like the rest of us law abiding folk. I don't think they will ever change no matter what support or help they are given.

did any one notice how the female for want of a better description looked like a jimmy saville clone  she spat on the pavement
part of me thinks they know full well what they are doing its nothing to do with senial dementia setting in
they all seemed so pleased to be anti social old B*ggers that it was hard to feel any sympathy for them two world wars or not
they disgusted me

I found it fascinating from te point of view that it gave us an insight to how NFH's minds work. That one Alexander (the oldest man with an ASBO) reminded me of an older version of my NFH. He said he was never sociable and seemed to struggle making light conversation. He also saw himself as the victim and as someone who was hard done by. When he read out his ASBO and what he was banned from doing I was interested to note that it included swearing, harassing, photographing, videoing etc - all things that members here have been told by the police that they can do nothing about!!! So if the police have no powers to act over incidents like this - how can these same actions be banned in an ASBO?????
I also noted that Alexander proudly said he had been through 2 World Wars...well his age was given as 88 so he must have been a baby/toddler during WW1, so I doubt he was doing his bit for King and country etc. Will today's toddlers in the future be bragging that they lived through the Iraq War?
I would love to speak to his neighbours to find out how they managed to get the police to take action. And also to express my sympathy.
All three seemed to be caught up in their own rights and freedom, it simply didn't occur to them to consider the rights of those about them.

:( I saw this as well, and I noticed a few things:
1. All three of them lived alone with little or no support from any family
2. all three had been married but lost their partners to illnesses
3. the anti social behaviour started after their partners died.
I absolutely believe that all three of them were suffering from some form of mental illness and actually needed counselling in the early days after their partners died and when they first started behaving oddly.
Of course it is now too late for them to mend their ways, and all they are now reyling on is society's sympathy for the fact they are now very elderly and it would seem cruel or immoral to evict them from their homes or sling them in jail.
A quite interesting programme I felt.
