Comfrey, AKA: Knitbone. Knitback. Bruisewort. Boneset. Gum Plant.
[attachmentid=1007] [attachmentid=1008]

grows wild, in woods and wasteland and along the roadside.

to assist the healing process of bruises, swellings and breaks:

you'll need the root, about 100g. soften the root in a litre of boiling water and then remove it from the water and smash it to a pulp.:thumbs:
while the pulp is still warm apply it to the injury and wrap it up for a couple of hours.
bottle the water the root was softened in, this can be reheated and applied to the injury as a compress every 4/6 hrs.

this herb can also be used to alleviate arthritic pain using the same method ;)

I have 2 comfrey plants in my garden :)
and they do work wonders on bruises and sprains, also when they flower the bees love em. :)
What i do, is pick the Comfrey leaves, dry them out and make a pulp in boiling water, all the oil comes out - and you have some real good oil to put on any aches and pains - smells a bit but hey it works :D
