View Full Version : A Weird Thing Happened To Me

We went out for the day to Shrewsbury.

In a shop an old lady had a child with her. The kid was not naughty but a bit excitable. He nearly bumped in to me. His granny spoke in a very, very broad rural accent: "Oh, do be careful, my dear. You nearly bumped into the Master, then."

Now, that really poleaxed me. I said: "Oh, don't worry! He was perfectly OK!" But I was thinking: "What the %&$£ was that all about?"

I have never been addressed in such a formal way and it did, as I say, poleaxe me! :)
