I'm actually not a football fan, in fact, I am not having any joy with the kids playing football outside my house, but I do tune into the occassional big matches, like the world cup final, european cup etc. I have to say tonight's champions league is by far one of the best matches I have seen in a long time, it is like a drama that unfolds infront of you live.
Surprisingly, my gf and myself sat through the whole game!! Without flicking channels!! That is a first for us. It takes a lot of fighting spirit to come back from a 3-0 down and win it, the lads deserve all the credit.
Did you watch this???????????????
I am a born and bred manc.........supporting mufc, only through blood ties...
Married a mersyside boy and slowly adapted to lfc.....
Tonight was, even as a outsider an amazing game............
3-0 down at half time... and against all odds clawed back and won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm also married to a scouser (though he was brought up in australia so a bit of a mongrel really) I bet liverpool is one crazy party tonight - credit to the team for the comeback - well deserved win even if it was on penalties :D
Great stuff, eh? I am so very pleased that Liverpool did the biz - good to see an English (British) team conquering Europe - and boy, that match had it all!!
edit: NB...topics merged  :)
Guesed they must have one, as the drunks walking past are chanting liverpool :D
Never realised there were so many Liverpool supporters in Essex
Mr jj.has officially passed out in the lounge!! :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
Had lots of Michelob beer and am afraid to say.....
he is drunk

Have to say well done to Liverpool, although we were supporting AC Milan because of our Italian family.
Well done anyway, but don't you just hate penalties?? I think we will stick to F1.
Born and bred Man U fan, but what a fantastic match - the landlord at my local was rubbing his hands at the prospect of extra time, but no-one wanted to leave the action, even in the breaks!
Drama, excitement and a happy ending, it had the makings of a blockbuster  (even though I nearly went home at half time). Gerrard was amazing (is he staying?) and Dudeks penalty saves were a sight to behold - I haven't seen crazy legs like that since Grobbelaar, but who cares about the legalities!!
Well done the LFC lads - That is possibly the only time you'll ever hear me say that! :P
Bonkers Mad!!!

that goes for me too, (a Gooner ;) ) excellent match
I don't usually watch footie on TV, but I was hooked last night  . I only came in at thye second half, just as Liverpool scored their 2nd. An amazing comeback.
But am I the only person who thought Dudek resembled a space invader at the penatly shoot out ;) It worked though.
Congrats to LFC

it was a brill game im not a footie fan myself but i enjoyed watching it
you are right dudek certainly resembled something like a space invader lol but i cant help thinking his tactic was to put the ac milan players off worked well didnt it!
the wobbly legs was done the last time they got that far by the mighty Bruce Grobbelaar!!
here you go ;) Signed from Canadian club Vancouver Whitecaps for £250,000 by Bob Paisley in March 1981, Grobbelaar was prematurely plunged into the daunting role of succeeding Ray Clemence when the England goalkeeper left for Tottenham a few months later.
But the eccentric South African-born Zimbabwe international rose to the challenge and was Liverpool's last line of defence in a stream of triumphs at home and abroad. Occasionally his self-confidence on the pitch backfired but his showmanship and exhibitionism could not detract from Grobbelaar's undoubted talent and remarkable agility.
He made more than 600 appearances in 13 years at Anfield, which brought him 13 major medals comprising six League titles, a European Cup, three FA Cup and three League Cup, ironically a total matched by Clemence over his two-club career.
Grobbelaar's goal-line "wobble" against Roma in the dramatic 1984 European Cup Final penalty shoot-out, which prompted Graziani to miss, is an enduring memory. He joined Southampton in 1994, later playing for Plymouth, Bury, Lincoln, Motherwell, Chesham United and Northwich Victoria, coaching Zimbabwe and managing in South Africa.
