Microsoft Publisher is a nice programme, in as far as it goes.

However, please do not make the mistake of sending it to a 'real' publishing or printing company.

Publisher is not compatible with the real pagemaking and DTP software that publishers or printers use. Most graphic design firms use Apple Macs and Quark Express or similar programmes and Publisher really doesn't get on well with them.

We have advertisers who insist that they have "designed their own advert" on Publisher, but who still fail to understand that it can't be used "as is" and will all have to be re-done on the Apple Macs in the design studio! I don't know why they fus so much! It's not as if we charge them for the art service, anyway! :hihi:

I've never used Publisher but in one manufacturing company I worked for we used to get that problem about incompatible or just plain dreadful artwok being sent to us.

The funniest one I ever saw was a buyer who actually decided what he wanted at breakfast in the morning, tore the front of his Frosties box off, scribbled the drawing, dimensions and a few notes on the back of the card, then sent it 'as is' to us in an A4 envelope!   :hihi:

Believe it or not, he was the buyer for one of the market leaders in his industry so I often wondered if it was just a wind up to see how we coped. We sorted it out though   much to our artists chagrin!

Yikes, Mr Ribbit! That's about standard for many of our clients! :D We got one advert drawn on a brownpaper bag, once! :hihi:

Lucky that he didn't get the frosties box turned into his artwork, by mistake! ;)

LOL Mr R  A Frosties box? :hihi:

We once had a letter come in at work, written on the lid of pizza box, and hand delivered into work! The pizza sauce was even dried onto the back
