Hi all,
I'm currently revising for two exams in June, but having not done it for nearly 10 years, I'm having problems.
About 20 minutes in, I can't concentrate any more and have a 'break'. 2 hours later I start again ;)
Does anyone have any hints or tips on how to make revision less painful?
(I keep looking at the lever arch file full of notes that I need to read and shivering)

The thing I found was "do what suits you". :)
Some people find it helpful to write notes, some find it helpful to just read and re-read to learn the facts and figures, some find it helpful to say key facts over and over, or make them into a story, some find it helpful to voice record things and play them over and over to learn them, or, what I did (and this prevents boredom too) was mixed lots of these techniques.
Get comfortable, get rid of as many distractions that you can. Condense the facts down into the bits you need to know. Read things out loud, you will remember things your own voice has said much better :) Test yourself, or get someone to test you.
Be confident and focus, and most of all, tell yourself that this is all worth it :D
Good luck, these techniques worked for me, hope they work for you too FF  B)

Thanks for the advice ...
I find that making notes helps - but I have trouble concentrating.
Found neat program to aid in note making called RecallPlus ... quite funky. It even tests you on your notes - not so good, as Manuel from Faulty Towers says "I knowa nothing"

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Yes, me too.
(Which is why I have disappeared recently).
I have three exams coming up in a couple of weeks, and feel hopelessly under-prepared. If I could spend as much time revising as I do fretting about it, I am sure I would pass with flying colours.
However, what I would say is - bite size revision stints are good. Don't feel bad if you leave it and do something else for a while - you need time for it all to be absorbed. And make sure you get some sleep!!!
Good luck to everyone taking exams soon.
Best wishes

I find a good way is to make graphical organisers/spider diagrams and then stick them up around the house. It works very well I think as you are subconsicencely taking in all the information each time you look at it and walk by.
