Hello there :D

I can play the clarinet, although I have not played it properly for many years now :( . I really would like to start up again in a band...perhaps when the kids are older  .

I also have a trumpet that I can get a scale out of and a few tunes and have recently acquired a cheap flute (good old ebay   ) and am trying to teach myself how to play that now!

I'm after a cheap saxophone next   .

I admire anyone who can play the piano - I can't get to grips with it at all!!

Oh and I am a virtuoso at the recorder! :hihi:

I love musical instruments!! :mexwave: :D

I had piano lessons as a young girl because my mum said it was something "all accomplished young ladies should do"!! I hated it though and rarely play now.

I am a whizz on the air guitar and play along to all my favourites!!!

At school I learnt the recorder and I can still play :D

Also played, and can still play both Tenor and French Horn, I was in regional orchestra with the French Horn :)

Oh, and I was a singer in a rock band for 6 years, does that count?

I think it's because I was MADE to play. Perhaps if I 'd done it because I wanted to then I would have liked it. I wanted to learn the guitar or the drums, but I wasn't allowed!

I play the recorder!!!!!!!!

Ah, altogether now: ah ah ah ah!!!!! You see, we were very poor and my mum and dad could not afford music lessons and recorder lessons were free, so there you go.

Oh, can play the triangle, very well too!!!!

3 of my 4 children are musical:-

Eldest son: clarinet Grade 3 then gave up. Guitar and electric guitar and is very good too!

Eldest daughter: Piano, beautifully and taking Grade 2 in 2 months' time.

Youngest daughter: Sings!

Youngest son: NOTHING!!!!!!!!!

Hubby: Guitar.

Maybe we could start a Osmonds/Jackson 5/Five Star group going????????????
:hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

Anyone remember 5 Star??????? :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

I wish I could play an instrument. I would love to learn to play the piano Little Miss Annabel but I know my own limitations - in other words 'I'm useless at playing music!'.  :hihi:

When I was 6 years old I was in assembly and they were using an old fashioned tape recording machine. I dozed off a bit and then I heard the teacher saying 'If anyone wants to learn to play the recorder after school, put your hand up.' I thought I could get to play with the amazing tape machine but ended up in a recorder class. I was very shy and it took me FIVE YEARS before I could tell the teachers that I didn't want to play anymore.   :hihi:

I have also tried to learn to play the violin (was more interested in sword fencing with the violin bow), the trumpet (couldn't play more than 3 notes on it) and the guitar (which was fun but I made too much of a racket so was asked to consider giving it up - permanently. ).

Of all the things I can think of, being able to sing is one of thise things I REALLY wish I could do. :wow: :notworthy:

Needless to say, even karaoke bars would ban me!

 Poor Mr Ribbit!! :flowers:

you reminded me of a boy in my class...our teacher asked anyone who was interested to bring their recorder to school the next day for lessons in lunch break...

One of the boys went and brought in his cassette recorder - complete with microphone!!

Ah, those were the days!! :D B)

:) I have no real interest in any musical instrument, I hated the recorder at school, despised all forms of percussion and NOWAY was I going to go near a Violin or piano...

Therefore I am stumped as to why Little Miss Annabel loves her piano so much...I am very glad though!!! :notworthy:  :D

I used to play rythem/lead guitar in a local band- - then 20 auditioned singers later - i ended up reluctantly on vocals too so I dropped the Guitar and just went vocals as its far easier to stay in tune
I can also play keyboards -bass guitar- and lead or rythem guitar- infact all our band could play more than one instrument- as we used to get a lil drunk when gigging and on occation swap places mid-set for a chuckle..

Those were the days  You dont have NFH on the road lol ...

I play the viola with my local orchestra, used to play the violin (it's sat at my mothers cause I dare not play it!) Played the usual recorders - descant and tenor and like to say I play the cello - if a bit badly and had a few lessons on the double bass.

Went to classicallive in March and blew a saxophone and oboe - was more successful with the oboe considering its a double reeded instrument!

I can play guitar, bass, and if I can remember how, flute too...lol! I tried drums a few times - I'd love to play, but I'm sure every good drummer must have been brought up on a farm in the middle of nowhere as practice rooms (soundproofed) are soooo expensive!!!!!!!

I'm so shy, tho, that I -stupidly- end up singing, as there's less room for mistakes.

-chuckle- banjo sounds pretty perfect!!!!!!!
