Our pet chipmunk has died tonight aged 12yrs. It was sad because she was so full of bounce. Yesterday we noticed that she had a bald patch under her eye, and her cheek pouch looked swollen. We waited until today to see if the swelling went down, because she has a habit of collecting food in it then dropping asleep. :sad:
I checked in on her and fed her treats earlier in the day. But she collapsed and could not get up tonight. It took 30 minutes for her to finally sleep. We checked her over, and realised she had a tumor round her eye area. She was really skinny as well so it most have being cancer. She was such a good gentle tame pet. Whenever I cleaned her cage out I let her run round the room. :sad:
