£10 for high-speed Net
A PRICE war over the cost of high-speed internet access is set to break out after one company cut its monthly broadband charges to just £10.
UK Online slashed its fees from £19.99 a month to £9.99.
Now BT, whose cheapest broadband package is currently £17.99, and other providers like AOL are now expected to drop their prices within days.
Dylan Armbrust, of Computer Active (http://www.computeractive.co.uk/news/1162408) magazine, said: “This is going to spark a huge price war.”

Let's hope AOL drop theirs :D It used to be £19.99 with them, now it's £17.99, but a tenner would be even better

NTL doesn't appear to drop have dropped it's prices - but their previously-much-slower broadband for 17.99 per month now appears to be 1 Mb, so that doesn't seem bad value for 7.99 more than the UK Online deal - it's some response, anyway.
A tenner's a nice cheap way into broadband tho' (and for 512 Kbps  ) - haven't seen it that cheap before. And, unlimited 2Mb broadband for the 19.99 sounds great :D

Blimey, hard to believe only a few years ago businesses were having to pay thousands of pounds per quarter for this sort of service. Amazing how the cost of technology drops isn't it. Brilliant news for consumers methinks.

I think it's important to compare speed as well as price. For example as someone said above, NTL may not have dropped their prices but speed has gone up significantly.
