Has anyone been watching this?

I have been following this from the start and am finding it compelling viewing. :hihi:

Sir Alan Sugar has offered 14 candidates the chance of a job in his company with a six figure salary. Each week they have to perform a task he sets them in teams. the team that loses the task gets one person fired.

there are only 7 people left, of which just 2 are women.

Sir Alan is very astute, he definitely sees through all the shenanigans and BS some of the candidates come out with.

Now we are down to just 7 people its getting tougher to see who he will fire next!!!

Its on BBC2, Wednesdays at 9 p.m., repeated on Saturdays very late

Highly recommended viewing!

I have only just got into this too ;) . I wish I'd seen it from the start, although there was a 'catch-up' programme a weekend ago which was great for me  .

I can't help thinking that the flippin awful Saira will win - she seems to be just wriggling out of trouble every week, living a charmed life!!

There's a guy who's name I don't remeber but I really hope he gets 'El-Bow' next - he was up for the chop last week but refused to say who he thought should be fired, refuses to acknowledge he's rubbish and is so slimey... arrrrrhhh!!

:) Tonite's the night!

This week they will be undertaking a task at the Spurs Ground....my hubby will be excited!!

Oooh, I wonder who will go, Raj and Tim seem the weakest of those who are left... :)

Hi Annabel!!!!!!!!!!!

It was great wasn't it?

You were right of course, Raj went! I thought he was going, as he has had several warnings off 'Sir' alan!!!!!

Its hotting up now............

Any predictions as to who you think may win????

I think Siara has a good chance as Alan seems to llike her, I want the guy on the other team to win...... cant think of his name???????

Hi JJ!! :D :D

I really felt for Saira yesterday, she found that task really tough going!!! Sir Alan gave her a pasting but I think she can learn from it.

I thought it was so nice at the end when she was crying and James, even though they dont really get on, put his arm round her and comforted her....he is very gentlemanly :) BUT....I dont think he is Sir Alan's type...too public school and not ruthless enough possibly?

Next week they are selling on QVC (or some TV shopping channel), I reckon Saira will fly through that one and I really rate Miriam, she gets on with it, cool calm and collected, good communication skills, creative....I reckon she will be around for a bit longer...

I think the next one to go will either be James or Tim!!! :)

Do you mean Paul? He is kinda like Saira isnt he, maybe not quite as abrasive as Saira but a lot more b*llsh*tty (to my mind)...

Im loving this programme!!!

JJ
14-04-05, 08:26 PM
Annabel...............

The guy I like is Tim!!!!............he is cool and calm and doesn't seem to have annoyed Alan yet!!!

However, I do think that Paul showed his commitment by selling his socks off for Tottenham, when he supports the visiting team, manu!!!!!

I love it too and CANNOT WAIT till Wednesday

Hi,
I can't make my mind up whether it will be Miriam or Tim who will win, I rate them both.
Hate Paul, smarmy and is so lazy.
James is loveable but too posh!
Saira, is full of bs.
Can't wait for the next episode.
Hubby has watched it from the beginning I only started watching it half way through. But am hooked!
:D :D :D

Did you see it?????????????

It was brilliant!!!!

Saira and James were brilliant....so funny demonstrating the lovely fleece!!!!!!! :hihi:

Poor Miriam.......she did not deserve to go really......... do not like the slimey Paul he has no dignity and will not admit his errors!!!! he is a ...how shall I put this???..............coward and a ******..............

lol

Hey JJ, you beat me to it...I just had to come here and vent! :banghead:

I am so mad that Miriam has been sacked...what is Alan Sugar playing at??? If his business is full of people like Paul, than I'm jolly glad I have never had any of his products!!! :nono:

Paul should most definitely have been given the boot - he is detestable!!! :8-X :chairhit:

I really thought Miriam had a great chance of winning  .

Oh well!

sunny
20-04-05, 11:24 PM
Yep,
Hubby and I agree, Miriam should not have gone, it should have been Paul.

But, don't you think Sir Alan is playing a game? All the publicity this is going to get tomorrow??????? We are talking about it!!!!!!!!

I think James will win now, no way is Paul going to win he is so obnoxious and Tim is nice but not got the umph and Saira, well.........

Very interesting.

JJ
20-04-05, 11:37 PM
well the mazzajjsunny vote is unanimous....Paul is a ''banker'' ......lol.........

I hope James wins.... he is a little stuffy, but he has shown versatility in this task and he was so funny. Failing that..........Tim to win!!!!!

Yes, James went up in my estimations tonight after that presenting job he did :notworthy:

It was great to see him & Saira having such a laugh with it too :D .

Grrrr....Paul...the slimey..... :chairhit: :frown:

Hi everyone!!! Wasnt it fantastic last night!!! Absolutely excellent!!!!

I was so pleased that Saira and James triumphed and lets face it, Saira got it spot on...The Wolf Spirit fleece was hideous, we were all peeing ourself laughing over it...but you see!!! it sold loads!!!! :notworthy: :notworthy: And as for that utterly ridiculous foam bed thing...yegads....

I too am gutted about Miriam going, very harsh and possibly the wrong decision by Sir Alan.... I think he was far too hard on her. :(

I am getting nervous now he does want to take Paul on...it was rather ominous that he said he saw a lot of himself in Paul...tsk tsk....

I really want Saira to win, no one has worked harder than she has...but if she doesnt, then James....he is so lovely and would be a great ambassador for Sir Alan!!! B) B) B)

21-04-05, 12:12 PM
You know, I have seen Ideal World flogging that fleece plus the yogurt maker AND the foam bed thing a few times now and they really do sell out quick...so Saira really got it spot on, she's gone up in my estimations because she wasn't as sneering as the others and just went for it, whilst still having a laff. :notworthy: . :hihi:

I think the others' horrible trick of making her say her products first was really low...I am glad it backfired on them! :nono:

Hmmm, I found I had to lift my jaw off the floor when Alan Sugar made that comment about seeing a lot of himself in Paul :o :banghead: . Please let common sense prevail...surely he can't be a serious bet to win??

Great stuff though!

 come on everyone...where are you?? !

So Saira and Tim are through to the bitter end! :wow: . I would never have predicted that!

How arrogant of Paul (yet typical eh ;) ) to back chat Alan Sugar after he was fired...what a load of tosh he spouted! :hihi: So glad he's out though...how could Alan Sugar not have binned him before now is beyond me  .

***Hot news... James is going to be on Ideal World (Sky channel 634) tonight at 10.00 pm flogging those fleeces again as a guest presenter  :D .

Should be worth a quick nosey for a laff!

And next week's show is promising to be a belter!

Annabel
28-04-05, 04:54 PM
  No way!!! I shall be glued to Ideal World!!!!

Anyone up for ordering one????????? :hihi:   :hihi:

I think the best two people ended up getting to the final...even though I still think Miriam should have been there rather than Paul!!!

I do think Paul has a hidden agenda and I hear both he and James have their own websites now, which rather proves the point that those two were accused of..i.e. being there for the fame rather than the job. ;)

I still like James though!

sunny
28-04-05, 11:17 PM
I was so glad that Paul was booted out. Not sure about James. But really pleased for Tim, did want Miriam to be in the last few too, but that's a shame.

Did anyone see James and Paul on Breakfast News this morning? About 9.30, when I had taken the children to school), Pauls' hair looked like it had a full jar of gel on it today!!!!!!

So who's going to win then?

My vote is for Tim.

JJ
29-04-05, 10:08 AM
OOOOOOhh I just love this programme, what am I going to do when it finishes????/

I dislike Paul so much.... he is a slimy little weasel and I was made up when he was sacked!!!!!!

My money is on Saira to win, however I really like Tim..so if he wins I will be just as happy!!!!!

Me and hubby were rooting for Tim from the beginning, so fingers crossed. Although the papers all did a piece on Saira, before she got through to the final 2. Maybe I am just being paranoid!! ;)

Love the programme, agree with JJ don't know what we will do when it ends! :crybaby:

Laughed so much at the wolf skin jackets, but then saw a man in our local town wearing one!!! Had to photograph him and send it to hubby who thought it was brill! :hihi:

Back Tim to win.

Hubby came home on Wed night and said he'd heard that Alan Sugar has employed 5 of the candidates!
His friend at work told him so don't know how true it is, been sort of passed on by friend of a friend of a friend.
Interesting if he has and who??????
I bet he's employed Miriam, he'd be mad not to? :D

I wonder if Miriam will get a job on that shopping channel. She was ace. Who were you glad to see the back of? For us it was Adele, Matthew and Raj.

Do you think they really all gave up their jobs to take part??

I watched some of that. Some of the other fleeces were even more hidious than the Wolf one they chose !! :sicky: £49.99 + p&p....and they were selling BIG TIME !!! ;)

The red one with the dogs around the middle & the paw prints higher up was so awful. I don't know how James kept a straight face.

Sunny, I read about that in the paper, they said 4 of those fired had been given jobs.

Roll on next week.

Can't waith either!!!!!!

He was giving nothing on Jonathan Ross was he??????

Also, am eager to see how the fired ones are going to be on tonight's show, should be a larf really.

What about Linsdey (?) the one who ignored everyone and make the card game, with signals on, can't remember what you call these.................er someone help!

Anyway, should be good viewing.

Annabel
04-05-05, 10:58 AM
LOL @ Sunny...Lindsey was fixated with those 'semaphore cards' wasnt she!!!??? he he he, Sir Alan kicked her backside for that didnt he!!

So tonight is the big night, cant wait!!!  I really dont mind who wins, but I do have a tiny bit of favouritism towards Saira, I think she has worked her socks off and given it her all... :notworthy:

It is apparently true that the final Four have been working for Amstrad for the past four months, because the tasks were mostly all completed a few months ago (hubby tells me the task at Spurs would have been done last September - he supports Spurs so we cant argue with him :hihi: )

they have been working in Amstrad under confidentiality agreements so as not to spoil the final....

anyway, about the fleeces, I thought the red doggy one was one of the least offensive    and what about that pink and green one they were boasting on about giving to Sir Alan!???? ROFLMAO :hihi: :hihi: I think the normal presenter was most put out at being upstaged by our James!!!

Excellent show and Sir Alan said on Jonathan Ross he was up for doing another series!!!  :notworthy: Cool!

Thought it was brill last night. What about Paul though?? Strangely I quite like him inspite of all he said about women.
The show afterwards was quite good and Sir Alan was actually very funny, maybe him and Paul should do a double act.
Loved the rerun lip of Saira showing James the wolf skin jacket.

Can't wait until the next series. :D

I love that wolf jacket clip too!! :hihi: . If I ever see anyone walking down the street in one, I know I will not be able to keep a straight face!!! :wow:

Paul went up in my estimations too when he said sorry unconditionally to Saira that time and they gave each other a hug...bless

Quite agree I mentioned earlier that I saw someone in our local town with one on. I had to photograph him on my phone and send it to my hubby, who roared when he saw it. :hihi:

I'm glad Tim won, I was surprised Saira picked Paul.

In the paper, it said that most of the seies was filmed las summer, and Tim & Saira have been working for Alan Sugar since October, even though they did'nt find out until this week who would be the apprentice.

Wednesday's are'nt going to be the same now. :( Roll on series two. :)

Hi LMA;

Yes I saw the programme after, he certainly did pick the right person.

Saira is ok but not the one for the job eh?

Isn't it always the same though on all these programmes; big brother, etc, the quiet ones are always the ones left in at the end?
