I think this explains why things started to slip, when Mr Hurd was Home Secretary.
It just goes to show the thinking behind the decisions he took when in power that helped to develop the NFH phenomenon we suffer to day.

Well, I wonder about this one. I was surprised to find out that they couldnt in fact vote, actually. and when you think that some prisoners still carry on earning money whilst in prison (i.e. jonathan king, jeffrey archer), it seems weird they cant vote....
However, imagine a political party comes along to a prison to campaign for prisoners votes...could end up making the difference in certain electoral seats, eh??
Dearie me! Whatever next? ;)
So if they vote, will they then also pay Council Tax?

I worked at a Poll Station recently. 46 voters came all day. Expensive exercise when you think about it? Every body complains about the government, the wrong party getting in, etc....but they don't get off their rears to put an X on a form. Interestingly, most who did come in were stinking of booze!

Being drunk helped them to get into the right frame of mind to select the candidate to vote for? :hihi:
