I really enjoy being a Domestic Goddess, but must admit that I miss having my own money to spend. I've thought about working outside the home, but then I'd have to face childcare for sickness and the school holidays.
Mr DG suggested that I consider becomming a Registered Childminder so I can stay at home and have extra pennies. I do like children and think this could be a good idea.

I was wondering however, because of my NFH I am on anti-depressants - can I do childminding while on these? I've managed to cope with my own daughters, but they are really well behaved.

Any childminders here?

:) Hi DG,

Childminding sounds like a good idea :)

I don't see any reason why you can't with anti depressents. You could always give the LA a call when you enquire to register and mention it to them? :)

A Domestic Goddess Childminder  the children will be in heaven :D

Good luck DG

Brilliant idea :D

I don't know much about childminding but I do know that some areas give grants for it, a girl in our street is a registered childminder and she got a grant to set up, I think it was about £150, not a lot, but at least something :) She is registered with the LEA, and on their website, if you put in your postcode it brings up childminders in your area, on a map

You could also try looking here (http://www.ncma.org.uk) at the NCMA website which might help a bit

Hi DG,

I dont know much in this area niether. Try having a look on Ivillage.co.uk, there is a lot of home working mums on there. They have a lot of home working ideas, child care being one of them. :D

Good luck with your venture.
