:cold: It's cooooold here in North Somerset and snow has tried to settle a few times but decided our ground isn't good enough.

I'm glad I'm working from home this week though. ;)

;) We have NO SNOW here in London despite the weather forecasters all saying that we would be deluged... :(

The disappointment!!! the let down! It has even been the subject of a radio phone in this morning...

Now they are saying we might get some this afternoon, but we are not to worry as it will turn to sleet and will all be gone by the time we have to go home from work.

Yes we still have snow, we've had it since the weekend, and it's snowing now, it's never stopped today :D

We've got about 2-3 inches where I am but a friend 10 miles west says they have about 2 foot up on the hills :o

Loads - snowed in at the bottom of two steep hills, with no way out! ;) No way any :drive: today.

Wish I owned a pair of wellies though :( 3 inch heels/open-toed sandals are just not footwear for the snow

Hi,

Here in the East Midlands, LOADS. It is still snowing and has been since around 6am.

Good news the roads are all clear though.

My 2 youngest are off school today it's closed though think that's 'cos the teachers can't get in???????

Spent nearly 2 hours building our fab snowman, complete with a ski hat, scarf, eyes, nose and buttons down his 'coat' though no pipe!!!!!!!

Had soooooooo much fun with the children making him!!!!!!!!!

Then we all had hot chocolate and that was before 10am this morning!

sunny :D :D :D

It is as dry as a bone round here. :) So, I wager a  that London is relatively unaffected by the snow...

any takers? :D

Yep, we've got about 3 inches, but it's stopped snowing and is really not bad at all. It's not even particularly cold so it's actually quite nice to go and play in it  .

All the roads and pavements are cleared - our Council has done a fab job (as usual  )

:)

in my bit its now all gone! just a few little piles hanging around now from where people have cleared their cars! :cold:
but its going to be freezing tonight :cold: -1 at least, with possible lighter snow showers in the leeds area.
which means really really slippery roads and paths.

we got off lightly really, we normally get more than this and I feel a bit disapointed really  :D

one year we actually got snowed in!, couldnt get to work! :D :D

so did you get a day off then Sapphy?

will make sure you get a yorks weather report for next week mr ribbit!

It's almost all gone from here (though still feet deep on the hills, we are closer to the coast), it snowed until about 2pm, then sleet and rain :(

Mr Eeyore has even taken his own car to work tonight (he loves the snow, he gets to borrow my 4WD!) :D

Mr Ribbit

Snow here in the North-East.

Typical..... we get a bit of Snow and the country comes to a standstill, also the nfh kids are off school and I'm going through hell; :banghead: :badmood: and this is not just kids being generally noisy, it's malicious noise, and the parents put them up to it.
(Many eons ago when I was at school, I can't ever remember getting a day off because of bad weather!)
Been a bad day all round, I hope they go back to school on Monday.

Also, something a bit interesting happened today, regarding my nfh......... I'll just have to wait and see

Day off?!!  I was at home - no choice (both snow and my management), but the power of the landline/mobile/internet knows no bounds, so worked 5 hours solid  No choice if I want to take my paltry 3 days leave I have booked from now :P

I will, however, make sure I get some wellies in for next time, as the footwear really didn't cut it with my two mile walk to the Co-op!

Hoping it's going to be OK as I move to the extreme north-west from Yorkshire tomorrow, then back here, then to Glasgow, and back. Hey ho B)

All going to slush here now, as the temperature has remained above freezing :)

Sapph (wondering if she should have walked the 15 miles to work? ;) )

Yahoo! It's finally snowing here in north Surrey/south London. Hardly ever see it, so it's really nice :hihi:  Brings out the kid in me!!
Yesterday, only a mile or two away it snowed all day and all we got was rain. Didn't have trouble getting my 16 year old daughter off to school this morning - even she has not ever seen much snow
Probably all be gone by lunchtime though :badmood:

It snowed for almost half of the day today...and last week it snowed almost constantly for three days...shame the temperature was only hovering around 0degrees - it didn't settle at all, apart from on grass etc.

Naymind, as it didn't settle, it didn't get in the way of going out at all. This winter the city's council seem to have got it right with the road gritting! Unlike last year, where the council totally ignored the three day's warning that it would snow, and didn't grit...meaning that when it did, the local ringroad (a horrorshow at the best of times) was turned into some sort of nightmare on ice... :banghead:

eeeeeejits!

Still, it looks pretty. I think we're getting off quite lightly in the West Midlands though, to be honest...other places seem to have it really quite badly - hope you're all okay!

Snowed again here overnight, I looked out of the window about 11pm-ish and everything was normal.... the next time I looked, everything was covered in thick snow
It was a quite mild day though surprisingly, and the snow had gone by late morning, much to my relief! I thought the kids might get the day off school again!!

Eeyore
04-03-05, 07:33 AM
Amazing, first morning in ages we've had no snow overnight

Sparrow
04-03-05, 09:02 AM
We have hardly had anything here! A couple of days last week we woke to a covering of it and the kids went to school convinced that when they got home they would be able to build a snowman but they were lucky if there was enough snow left to make a tiny snow ball!! :) I hate this really wet horrible weather - my car always dies on me!! :(

Bonkers Mad!!!
04-03-05, 10:02 AM
that must be because it's here now. all day yesterday and a blizzard this morning

Annabel
