Hi everyone,

Just when we thought no more idiots ringing our phone number by mistake. What happens? my fella starts recieving texts on his mobil saying happy new year, some guy telling him about his evening. Inviting him out to places, my fella pointed out that everyone he knew by his name was in the room so he did not know him.

He stopped texting for a while now he has started again, my fella never replies and the last time he tried to get my mobil number off my fella. Now hes texting twice or more a day trying to get him to go out for a drink.

We dont know how he has got my fellas number. I suppose we could change his number, but why the heck should we.

We assume its some sad bored or dodgy type with nothing else to do all day.

GG.

I think I would ignore it, but if it continues a lot and or you get worried over it, I am sure you could report it to your provider, they might be able to bar his number from reaching your phone

stay safe :flowers:

Hey G.G.,

I've been getting phone calls on my mobile for about five years ..... for an elderly home care service :banghead:

I've had emergency doctors, district nurses, distressed senior citizens. I even walked into a hotel in Italy for an anniversary dinner, and got a poor old dear asking if someone was coming to do her cleaning!

I've reported it to the service provider, complained to the Local Authority Social Services that actually pays the company for their rubbish service, and still the calls keep coming. Maybe I should change jobs, there seems to be a need for this type of service

By the way, I've forwarded a P.M. to you.

regards

D.J.

Hi GG

I've had the same since just before X-mas. I got really fed up with them so sent a text back saying I don't know who you are - you have the wrong number.

Wrong. I got a text back calling me a t***. Then another which ranted on about them not caring whether they saw me again. :errrm:  I've never seen them in the first place.

I'd ignore it, the texter must have no life  and a lot of money to spend on texts ;)

As Beth says, can you maybe bar the calls? :)

I wouldn't think twice about getting the number blocked, they clearly aren't going to stop. Call your tarriff's customer service, they'll probably sort if for you in a phonecall.

Hi GG :)

I suppose it depends how much it bothers you - or if it becomes more troublesome or bothers you more if it continues further.

I was being "stalked" by text (by someone who knew an awful lot about me) last year :( . My first mistake was to respond more than once, and it carried on. In the end I went to the police, who couldn't do a lot in terms of tracing the number or anything, as there were no actual threats or, say, sexual harassment (although I felt very harrassed and quite upset that someone knew such a lot about me). What they did do, however, was leave a message on the phone re the texts to myself and asking the sender to contact them over the matter. I didn't receive another text :D

Sapph :)

:badmood: What a pain! My husband got a mystery text once from some girl, very blatant it was as well, he texted her back telling her she must have the wrong number...she replied...one word 'gutted' :D

I recently got dumped by what must of been a 12 yr old girl, who wouldn't believe that I wasn't her boyfriend, and thought that I was having her on - my wife could not help laughing at my futile attempts at trying to break it gently to this girl that she had to go through the dumping process again, and that it was probably better NOT by text!! :D
