DG, i so badly want The Sims2 i had a look at some fan sites and the houses look wicked  you can only build up to 2 floors on The Sims. its the thought of not having all the nice stuff that i have in the original game. what would i do without my deadly nightshade and magical powers?

there are a few expansion packs so that you can take them out of a house environment. the making magic expansion pack gives you a new area called magic town where you can buy or barter for) spell ingredients. then you take them home and brew them to either charge your wand or make a charm, you can turn people into frogs, make them fall in love with you, turn your cat into a man :D . you can also enchant your garden gnomes so that they come alive and water the garden :hihi: if you have a wine press though, the gnomes will get in and get drunk so you have to spell them inanimate again

That sounds brilliant. I've been intrigued by this game for ages but never bought it. Do you think we have to start out with any particular version of the game or do we have to start with the first one and then work our way throughthem in order?

i'm off "on one" now
the more you use your magic the more powerful you become and strange things start to appear in the garden. things like toadstools and herbs and crystal that give you talents like the ability to teleport and levitate.

mr ribbit, you need the original game installed first ;) you can pick it up really cheaply now (deluxe edition for a tenner preowned), once you have that installed you can add the expansion packs. the expansion packs are best installed in order and our cash converters sells them for about a fiver ;) its worth buying them in order to get used to the extra abilities with each game. hot date is first (can be quite pornagraphic  ), then house party, vacation, unleashed (pets for your sims) superstar and making magic

my maxis folder is 5.22 GB and contains 25,780 files, 605 folders  my download folder is 1.7 GB by itself, maybe i need to get rid of some of it, i think i have 80% of the free stuff on the net. if you like landscaping then Persimmon Grove (http://meanreds.reikibaby.com/persimmongrove/) is fantastic. i spent weeks building all my sims sheds :hihi: they have loads of stuff that can be placed on slopes and they have a whole winery  they've also got a Koi farm and Kiwi (the feathered type) farm, you have to remember to feed the fish tho' else they die  and you dont need any expansion packs for any of the downloads ;)

This is so much fun - following comments on this forum I created my NFH, gave them no house, a barbeque, a fridge, a very small table with only one chair, and a garden gnome and let them get on with it.
There sole pastime was kicking the garden gnome over. Then their barbeque got reposessed and they starved to death.
Oh how I laughed!

Sims 2 arrived this morning!! :D
Time wasted:
2 hours moving/deleting stuff on my hard drive to make way for the wee folk
1 hour installing it (tried to trick it onto another drive, but it wasn't having any of it)
2 hours playing with the tutorials
1 hour making the little people annoy each other and go to the toilet (can't they at least do that on their own????)
10 mins feeling a bit guilty at how much time I've spent on it.
Oh dear.
think I'll just go and have a little look at how they are getting on without me.

cinders, i sat on my bum all day yesterday  spent the morning downloading furniture and genetics and the rest of the day making James fall for Brandi.
tomorrow i have to go and spend some money on a new graphics card cos the game is very slow on my PC :(
As an impartial person I think it has to be said - you all need to join a Sims Anonymous group and FAST! They will take over your lives!
