Hi all!

I've just got myself a lovely new Cd/MP3 player for the bus to and from work. Would really welcome some ideas for new listening fodder as I'm bored by my current CD collection!

I have pretty eclectic tastes, and judging by the posts here so have you! So far have done Human League, Amy Winehouse, Fatboy Slim, Pink Floyd (!), The Zutons, a bit of Northern Soul (but that's a whole other story :o ) Goldfrapp, Stereolab and Franz Ferdinand.

I'm keen to venture into unchartered territory, but draw the line at McFly/Blue/spikey-haired boys (I am old enough to be their mum, and my nephew likes that sort of stuff, so bit of a nono).

Also nothing too irritating for other passengers - don't want to be the Passenger From Hell!

Over to you....

I recently got the Scissor Sisters album - not the type I'd usually buy, but is really quite good. For some reason my two year old daughter likes it too.

Creative Zen Micro - please.

Alabama 3, Exile at Coldharbour Lane. Quite simply the best and funniest album I've listened to in years. A friend of mine summed it up best as 'sweet pretty country house acid gospel blues...'

BUY BUY BUY!

Great selections! :notworthy: :notworthy:

If I did have an iPod, I would have The Cure, Bowie, 80's music, 40's-50's music and a few Goth selections as well. :punk:

Hi

I have got a creative zen touch with over 900 tracks so far. Loads of Beatles, OASIS, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Coldplay, Rolling Stones etc, etc . . . . .

Hi P

Franz Ferdinand on heavy rotation this week, but will have to make way for the 4 CD Two Tone compilation I've just borrowed....

Must dig out some Oasis as I haven't listened to them for ages.

Cheers!

I have just recently added quite a few songs by Rickie Lee Jones, bah what an amazing voice.

" Ms. Jones had learned how to suspend a song’s forward motion without losing its drama. Using riffs that could circle themselves again and again and complex chords that can hang in the air, she found an audio equivalent of cinematic slow-motion and freeze-frame. It was as if the rhythmic flexibility of her singing had somehow infected her band and her songs."
