I've notice a slight problem with my computer. Whenever I click on the back button, I am sent back 2 pages instead of one. I am sure that I am not clicking it twice. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can rectify it?
It's making my Ebay browsing very tricky!!!!!

Morning DG,
What operating system do you have?.
GG.
If you can remember the last time this didn't happen, it might be worth doing a system restore - Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore. I always find this is a good place to start when things go wrong. :)

Thanks for the advice. I'vre tried both, but so far no luck. I've also run disc clean up and my anti-virus programme, but still the back and forward pages seem to double click all by themselves. By the way, I'm running Windows XP
Any more ideas - all greatly appreciated!

have you checked in your mouse properties? you can change the function of each mouse button in there ;)

Just passing,
What was the last thing you did before it started double clicking?

I've realised that the problem was being caused by my mouse, so I've ordered a new one opst haste!
Many thanks to all those who gave advice!
D'oh! I am such a plank, the mouse - of course!
I had a similar problem a while ago and it was the mouse too.
It's good that you are getting a new one cos the problem will probably not go away and you don't want it getting worse like mine did. It just clicked all over the place by itself, opened loads of windows and altered my settings...I am still finding things wrong even now! :crybaby: :badpc: :chairhit:

Mazza,
If its not a cable one, do the batteries need changing. If its a cable one some times this happens if it needs setting up differently.
Glad your problems are solved DG.
GG.
Hi GG - it was my old mouse - must have been a loose wire in the cable.
I have a new one and it's it's all sorted now  .
