if you go to amazen now, you can order an email to let you know when to order it!

I normally get my HP books and dvds from there, and they arrive through my door the day they are released! great, it means no queuing in the shops!

I heard she finished writing it last night

And The Goblet of Fire film is out this November - Ralph Fiennes is to play Voldemort :)

I heard that JKR will only write one more book - Harrys upper sixth.
Wonder what she'll do after that? Possibly put her feet up with all the ££££ she's earned.

She'll have a hard time writing anything else, as all people will expect from her now is 'Harry Potter' type books.

FF

(whos only jealous as he wishes he could put a few thousand words in the right order and make a few £million.)

:) I have often wondered what she will do after the Harry series is finished. She isnt like other authors who built up a body of work before they scored a major success. It really will be interesting to see. :)

Psssst...the new book is 1p cheaper on tesco.com!!

:hihi:

Annabel
14-03-05, 01:41 PM
1p? how tight is that? what about p&p? i shall investigate!!!

Eeyore
14-03-05, 01:44 PM
1p eh? Well that's 1p in my pocket not someone else's

I had heard also that in total there will only be 7 HP books

mazza
14-03-05, 10:16 PM
Yes, it includes P&P. On Amazon, when I last looked a week ago it was £12.74 inc p&P (£9.99 for the book, £2.75 delivery), Tesco it's £12.73 (£9.99 for the book, £2.74 delivery) inc P&P.

I have used both sites in the past and found them reliable (although for Tesco it was for electricals, not books!)

Mind you, if you spend over 20 quid (I think) on either site, delivery is free.

Correct me if I am wrong!! :D

Little Miss Annabel

There are going to be only seven Harry Potter books! Ohhhhh!! :o

But when there isn't any more I guess I'll be as happy as a little man who gets to eat chocolate all day and watch telly and.....

Anyway 1p cheaper!

I was just looking around The Book Club and I found this!! (I'm a big fan of books! )

Well I was in WH Smith's today and I saw an advert on the half blooded prince! The background apears to be red but it didn't show the picture!! :badmood: :banghead:   anyway I think that J.K Rowling should make Harry's Mum & Dad come back at the end of the last book!!!

I know the last word of Book 7 is SCAR. This has been documented because JK Rowling has already written the last chapter of Book 7 and everything else is just working towards that.

I'm sooooooo looking forward to the 16 July... Roll on. :o)

Another massive HP fan here!!!!

Just wanted to tell you about something..........

About 4 years ago a friend , who is a manager of an 'Ottikers' book store managed to get the first 2 harry potter books on audio for my 3 girls( all too young at the time to read the novels, but not too young to enjoy the concept) anyway.............Stephen Fry narrates the unabridged versions of the stories , they are AMAZING....REALLY.!!!!!! .........nothing edited out, just word for word like the books, and wierd.......the very first book was recorded well before the film release and production of the film , but Stephen Fry manages the voices and characters as if he knew the casting!!!!!!!!!!!!Since then we have got all 5 on audio and they make great bed time listening if your nfh is playing up!!!!!!

We have the CD's and often listening while driving. It makes the journey pass quickly and seems to have eased our youngest daughter's travel sickness.

We can't wait for the next book. When it arrives, I hope that my eldest daughter will have left for school so I can get in there first!!!!

If you can wait until it is in the shops and go and buy it, WHSmith is selling it for £9.99 but you need to pre-order it B) .

I think I'll wait because probably Tesco will sell it cheap in store too :D .

I've pre-ordered from amazon, can't remember how much though

I'm reading Order of the Pheonix to Jr at the moment for bedtime. He still likes to be read too, just a couple of pages before he reads his own book. With HP I'm more than happy to oblige

I notice that Amazon is flogging it for £8.99 now (pre order and p&P to add) . Also Woolworths is selling it for £8.99 too but they want a quid deposit.

I am all  now but think I'll still hang on and pop to Tesco on the big day!!

Annabel
12-07-05, 09:29 PM
You might be in luck there if it is an excellent condition hardback first edition of Philosopher's Stone or Chamber of Secrets, possibly (but less so) Prisoner of Azkaban....

after that the first edition print runs were ginormous and therefore the value of a first ed. of the 4th and 5th books is very minimal.

However much a first ed is worth it pales into insignificance if you have a signed first ed of any of her books, she never signs...a signed book is worth tens of thousands, possibly more!

4 days left folks!!! :hihi: :hihi:

How long have you had your shop then, and what do you sell. Antiquarian and second hand or new books. Do you sell to any particular group like students or is it more general than that.

I would have loved to have had a look at your shop, and website.
