It's the third time it's been done and I'm a bit tired of it, first one was brilliant and a fresh idea :D

Could something else not have been done, a different song maybe??

Won't be buying it, sorry, as I'd never listen to it basically, not my sort of "singers", and it is a tired song now  Stick with the original, a classic

Just my opinion :P

Hi all

I probably will end up buying it. No 1 son will be pestering me since Busted are on it :)

I'm quite looking forward too it, but Justin or Bono for that line? I dunno, too close too call.

At least it will be better than the Stock, Aitken, Waterman version 8-X .... The Frog Chorus was better than that version :P

Haven't heard it and won't be buying it BUT I did hear on the radio that the Government have agreed not to take VAT on any of the sales which means that there will be something like an extra £8 million going straight to charity.

Good, eh? :D

:) I'd prefer to buy the DVD, the Live Aid concert was great but I didnt get to see much of the American concert...

I have heard the new version, its OK (didnt like the Sugababes' bit tho')...I like Justin Hawkins' guitar riffs!

as for him and Bono...Midge Ure said they decided to use Bono's voice because Justin did his usual high pitched trilling and Midge Ure didnt want people thinking they were taking the mickey!

It will be Number One for sure

still havent heard it!

I think in a way its a shame that they used such a classic, and it is a classic, 20 years ago history was made, they are not going to be able to reproduce that, however I do beleive it will do a lot of good and hopefully people will go and buy it, maybe if they dont buy it they can donate something to oxfam instead :)

I am still listening out for it and Yes I might just buy it ;) I wish I had an orginal copy of the orginal but hey ho I dont :(

Ooops, I always get sugababes and Destiny's Child mixed up. Their so alike :errrm:

I'm just an old fogey :P

I still have the original somewhere in the depths of my collection......just don't have a turntable anymore :(

I miss my vinyl records :(

I wouldn't waste my cash buying it, it's not known as "Bland Aid 20" for nothing.

Awful version - saw it on TV at 5 to 6pm.

For a "new generation" record, it still has Paul Mcartney and Bono keeps the lead line.

All in all a tired version of a powerful song. The video was padded out as well.

maybe it would be better if we saved our ears and just gave the cost of the CD straight to oxfam! :D

There were loads of negative reviews on a radio call in ealier, and I caught the tail end of the video last night on one of the music channels....I was a little disapointed to say the least, also I am feeling very old as I dont know 3/4 of the "stars" on it!! :D

wanna hear a dreadful joke?

well I am going to tell you anyway!

Chris Reah and Dire Straits want to get into the charity record scene and have teamed up to make their own version of band aid.

they have called themselves.......

Dire-reah!

told you it was bad!
thanks to my partner in crime at work for that one! ;)

The appeal of the original was its raw-ness.

This version smacks of over production.

I might download or even stream, it if its available and if don't buy the CD, but you find me accessing it too often.

Release the original. IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!

Dreadful version - especially the rap bit.

Bought it anyway because it's a good cause - the CD also has original version and Live Aid concert version on, so good value for money. (Forget how Tina Turner seemed to lose control on the live version!!!). Wish they had also included Band Aid 2 version....

Wonder if anyone will do a charity record for the Tsunami disaster in Asia. £45 million already raised by GB. A good song could substantially increase this - music always seems to capture everyone's imagination. Having said that £45 million is stunning. Absolutely bl**dy stunning.
