If you could remove the calories from one food, so you could eat it any time and as much of it as you liked forever... what food would you choose.

I'd choose pizza. I'd be sick if I ate too much chocolate... but there's just no such thing as too much pizza :pizza:

All the C's!! Chocs, cakes, chips and cookies!!!!

I'm on the Atkins diet so I can eat low carb chocs it's just that they are so blooming expensive £1.30 for a pack of low carb rolos!!! Still, they ARE yummy!

I find it very hard to bake for my family and not eat the results. I dream about gingerbread men!!!

Domeda. Gambian dish - lamb cooked in peanut butter and tomato puree with onion, chilli, and a stock cube. Served with cous cous! Or maybe I'd be a greedy pig and want no calories in just about everything I shouldn't eat too much of too often.

Hey there Rosie, :)

That sounds fascinating. Have you a recipe you could post here? :notworthy: :flowers:

Maybe start a new thread in the Food section? :chef: That would be really interesting! :)

We're vegetarian but I'm sure other members would love to try that. We would probably try it use Quorn as a substitute to the lamb. :notworthy:

My husband does the Gambian cooking, since he's Gambian. I do the rest - Nigerian, Italian, Greek, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Thai ..... bangers and mash and whatever! Will ask him to give me the recipe....but then I might have to do more cooking at home ;) oo-er! Do I really want to do that when he does most of it? Can't talk him into the ironing though! I hate ironing! Can we ban that as well as NFH? Start a Dare To Go Wrinkly campaign (not the anti-cosmetic surgery type.) :ban:

inside my skinny carcass is a fat cow trying to get out  the only time i ever managed to put on weight (apart from being pregnant) was when "cheese ums" pringles were available, over 2000 calories in a pot  . when i was working i couldnt be bothered to cook, my son ate at after-school club and i used to have 2 pots of pringles and a packet of cheddars with danish blue cheese and colslaw, washed down with a couple of cans of (full fat) coke, every evening. put on 10 pounds in as many weeks, ended up 2 and half stone heavier, from a 10 to a 14 in less than 2 months  first time i'd ever had anything that even slightly resembled boobs  then they stopped selling them and bang went my 4000 calorie snack  they were probably my most favorite food ever

Mr Ribbit
02-11-04, 04:54 PM
Awww, poor BM.

I hate it when a favourite food or product just disappears off the shelves. Why do they do that?

Maybe we should start a Cheese 'Ums petition for you BM.

I've just realised, I haven't said what I'd have if there were no calories in them. Pizza! All the way. :pizza:

Ahh, Cheese Um's,

One of the great losses to the crisp world known to date.

I've been to the Pringles site and followed all the links. You can actually ask for Cheese Um's to come back in their feedback questionaire. If you want to do this (I've already had my say on the site just now), go to the following link >>Click here (http://exapp004.informative.com/cac/pg/mypage.jsp) and click on the Pringles logo in the Give us your feedback section.

It'll take a few minutes to complete the questionaire thingy, but you get a chance to add your comments and ask for Cheese Um's to come back! :wow:

You never know BM, you mightget your magic snack back yet. :) :eat:

thanks mr ribbit, i shall do that forthwith

actually, i'm quite surprised at how few people remember them, "do you mean cheese and onion?" "no, they were in an orange pot" " OH, you mean paprika"

NOOOOO!!!!! i mean cheese ums
(i think they were spelt with a "z", cheez ums  )

Annabel
02-11-04, 08:39 PM
 @ BM...ooh I thought Cheezums were yuk! but I am ever so slightly (mega understatement) addicted to ready salted pringles, which are very bad for me! Pringles are so moreish...

One of my aunts told me once, when she was a teenager, she got into a fad of drinking whole pots of double cream...and was very surprised when she put on loads of weight and got covered in spots!!! :o ooh yuk!

mazza
02-11-04, 09:02 PM
Funny you mention double cream Annabel cos that would be my food with no calories (sort of thing  ) .

And all those curries etc that are made with it!!.

And trifles...strawberries and cream...actually...Ice cream too :hihi:

Oooyummy!!!!

And actually, a greek dish called moussaka...blimey it is a calorie explosion - so THAT would prob be my preferred food to remove the calories from B) . (and chips  )

Bonkers Mad!!!
02-11-04, 10:13 PM
Annabel, its the monosodium glutamate that's addictive, most foods aimed at kids are full of the stuff. there's loads more of it in pringles than in ordinary crisps, so it really is true, once you pop, you cant stop. :D

and speaking of cream (well loosely), condensed milk, YUM YUM!!!

It's so nice to learn that I am not alone in my Pringles addiction!! I can down a whole packet no problem! I especially like dunking original flavour pringles into a garlic dip - Mmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!! I long for low carb pringles to be invented!!!

My other weakness is Hagen Daas strawberry cheesecake ice cream. It's a taste of Heaven itself!! Some people are under the misguided belief that a tub serves 4 people - what tosh!! 1 tub full is a perfect single portion!!! I don't want to know how many calories are in it!!

http://pages.prodigy.net/indianahawkeye/newpage09/9.gif

I'm also a big fan of KFC!!!!All that grease dribbling down my chin!!! There are very few men I wouldn't sleep with for a family sized bucket of KFC and coleslaw!!!!!

A strawberry and cream sandwich :o That sounds yummy :eat:

I love the calorifically high toasted sugar bread, you have to do it under a grill, white bread is best

Toast one side as normal, then take the bread out, and spread the untoasted side with butter, and then sprinkle white sugar on the top, shake the bread so that the sugar covers all of the butter. Pop under the grill until the sugar starts to melt, fabulous :eat:

Lenny Henry used to eat condensed milk sandwiches, I think it was on tiswas.
My dad used to eat them too, the milk is thick enough not to just soak in.
I just like eating it straight from the can, if you leave the can open in the fridge it makes a nice crusty bit on top which is really sweet :) all you need is a spoon!

Haggis suppers from L'Alba D'Oro fish and chip shop in Edinburgh

Blackpudd's chocolate brownies which are fabulous but have a pack of butter in them!!! (it's the recipe out the Green and Black's chocolate book which is a must for all chocoholics)

Blackpudding and fried egg rolls - great on a Sun morning.

Anything involving sausages - there's a sheep/beef farmer who goes to the Edin farmer's market who does the best lamb sausages in the world.

Crisps

Cheese - I'd be happy being stranded on a desert island with a good bottle of red wine and a pile of cheese.
