I am totally addicted to the books featuring Kurt Wallander. I have read them all in German, but have since discovered they are available in England, too

They are extremely well written; Henning Mankell has the knack of description without being too drastic about it....does that make any sense?

I recommend they be read in sequence as the central character (the policeman Wallander) builds up during the various volumes. But each book does contain an independent plot and can be read out of sequence, too.

If any of you have read his books or plan on trying, I'd be very interested in your opinion.

Enjoy!

Just read the very first and very last Henning Mankell books - absolutley brilliant. I think it may have been quite a quite a jump to go from the first to the last, but none the less excellent books. Now harrassing husband (who is a librarian) to bring home more!
