I moved a plant in to the green house at a friends house from out side as its getting colder and it needs to be inside, while I was doing it I got stabbed by a cacti
one of the those ones with fine needles

how do I get them out???

it really hurts now, did it yesturday :( all my index finger is sore :(

it looked like this.....one of those long thin ones, which has "joints" and lots of fine prickles.....

Hi Beth,

I feel your pain - I once stepped on a sea urchin whilst on holiday in Spain.

The spines would not come out either, not matter how deep I probed with needle and tweezers.

Eventually went to a local chemist, who had a special 'Sea urchin spine extraction cream'. It worked a treat - applied twice a day, 3 days later the black spines were poking out above the skin and could be grabbed and pulled out with tweezers easily.

Perhaps your local chemist could advise something similar?

B) Hi Beth, I know what you are going thru, I have literally, just this minute dug out a splinter from my hand with a safety pin...eeek! It had pus round it as well...yuk! 8-X

anyway, I seem to recall from my student days working p/time in Boots that
Magnesium Sulphate paste was always recommended for 'drawing things out'...
I wonder if they still sell it....maybe i should have gone and asked before I stabbed my hand!!! eeh its smarting a bit!
