God bless Simon Cowell, he doesn't mince his words.

If you are a useless singer he says you're a useless singer, he doesn't believe in letting you down gently. B)

Hey Paul, you beat me to it - I was going to start a thread on this too!

I told myself: 'No! I will not watch it and get sucked into all the hype...' so I did not watch the first episode.

But look what happened...

ITV repeated it late on Friday when my 'puter crashed and I was bored... saw it was on teevee...so that was that!!!

And now I'm hooked :crybaby:

I think Sharon Osbourne is just excellent :notworthy: - and she can be way more cutting than Cowell

Yeah, a bit cruel when she told those 2 girls they looked like a couple of strippers.

Beth

and she agreed that girl could sing but she had a big bum! then said loose the boots, belly showing and get rid of the makeup and you might have a chance!
great stuff

I also had no intention of watching it

Same here, I did not intend on watching X- factor ;) then I was flicking thru' satellite and caught it on ITV-2

I thought Sharon Osborne was excellent, did feel sorry for her the week before when she was being shouted at and had abuse hurled at her for "her family" ;) Most unfair, so people have watched the Osbornes on TV, doesn't mean you actually know them as people or a right to be abusive :(

Loved Simon Cowell (as always) sooo funny

  :D

I watched it as well, what a laugh!! :hihi:

But I want to know what happened to the old bird that Louis Walsh stood up sitting there all lonely with her cute little sausage dog....aaahhh

I must say I think Simon was right about the 60 year old Fairy! She was no way as good as the 2 bleached blonde 'I dream of Genie' Twins....and Sharon was dead mean saying they had noses like pickaxes...I mean it wasnt so long ago that her conk was just like that !!!! (oooh **********y) :P

Im hooked !!!

Eeyore
13-09-04, 12:26 PM
Oooh Annabel :hihi: Now I remember the pick axe comments, she was right though!

What about that pair of daft lads from Newcastle audition who had given up work to be stars, they were terrible! ^_^

Annabel
13-09-04, 12:57 PM
ooh yes Eeyore :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: how embarrassing as well, they had brought their entire family with them...silly fools! i was cringing!

its amazing how people delude themselves...

and -P-, I was thinking the exact same thing about the old fella...I can imagine him down the pub, having a sniff of a shandy and going wild! I did wonder if he might throw his hip out, what with all that jigging and breakdancing....

mazza
13-09-04, 07:45 PM
:wow: :hihi:

Come on, you've got to admit, it is really funny!!

What about those twins who were about 18 but carried on like two 8 year olds in front of their bedroom mirror...?

They really thought they were fabulous but when they were told they weren't good enough they ran away...they just ran away!!!! In floods of tears, couldn't even speak to the camera!! :wow: :hihi:

I love the 80 year old gran from the first episode - I hope she does well - that is what you call class ! B) .

Annabel
19-09-04, 04:22 PM

We haven't watched any of these types of programs - the cringe factor seems to be so high that we've avoided them. Are that that good?

Everyone seems to be having a whale of a time following this program. :)

I dont normally "do" this kinda of programme, but some one said that I should watch at least one!
its interesting watching really dreadful singers who think they are great being told they are dreadful
followed by ..why did you come here today?
answer being....my mum said I was good!

Last nights show was a scream, that young man from Leeds thinking he was Eminem was a right joke, and he needs to be taught a few good manners.

Annabel
26-09-04, 08:44 PM
:D @-P-¬

And what about the bloke who was waxed and plucked and coiffured to the max, and then took total umbrage when Simon Cowell said hed make a good drag queen???? :hihi: :hihi:

the girl who came in in her jim jams made me laugh as well!

classic telly!

26-09-04, 10:14 PM
I love that show, i've just watched the repeat on ITV2.

You ever noticed Simons bodyguard . . . . . you wouldn't want to mess with him.

mazza
26-09-04, 11:01 PM
Oh my goodness, that 'drag queen' one was so caked up in make up - unbelievvvvable :hihi: !!!

Ugh, that useless eminem (yeah, right   ) one, arrrrggghh!!!

I LOVED that complete crazy mad thing on last - gawd help 'em all in the next round with her around !! :wow:

X Factor is one of those shows (like Big Brother) that you know you shouldn't watch as it's tacky.....but I lOVE it!!!!!!!!!!

It's the look of total astonishment on people's faces when they are told they are cr*p!! They seem to have no idea that they are terrible singers!!! I LOVE the twins sisters who ran off in floods of tears! I can just imagine them coming up with their "dance routine" in their bedroom!!! I cringed for them while also laughing cruelly!!

Sharon is fab, her one liners are amazing! Simon is hilarious and sooo mean....I'm not quite sure what the point of Louis is though... he looks like that uncle who also gets drunk at weddings and dances all night!

Beth
02-10-04, 08:05 PM
please tell me th echicken guy was a plant!!! I mean he said he worked in a chicken factory called pick a chick!!
and when he was singing we both were actually crying, the tears were rolling down our cheeks!

not of course that we watch it! ;)

Domestic Goddess
02-10-04, 08:48 PM
Much cackling occured in the Carrieuk house at the chicken guy!!! Oh bless him!! His rendition of Tragedy was priceless!! And then he managed to go one better by singing Barbie Girl.

What rock do all these people crawl out from under? Do they have no self respect? Still, I'm glad they do come to audition because it makes fabulous viewing!

hollygolightly
02-10-04, 09:46 PM
Bless him, the poor thing

I've just tried to find out more about the guy, but sadly have failed. :(

Does anyone remember that Rowetta was the backing singer for The Happy Mondays? She has got a good voice. But isn't she therefore a pro not amateur?

mazza
10-10-04, 12:21 AM
Oh my goodness, THAT's how I recognize her   Thank you Eckie :notworthy: .

Well she might be a professional, but then they've had others who have been on TV or in bands already too - like that guy from Brookside.

I am really chuffed she has got through - she's HUGELY entertaining - if a bit berserk!!! I hope she can tone it down a bit and she'll stand a good chance.

I didn't like that 16 yr old girl - OK her voice is great, but her clothes were :sicky: and I agree with Sharon that she needs some smacks!!!

Awww, my old fave Irene is out though, I really liked her - even if she does sing like anyone's old gran!

Annabel

I am loving this show, it is sooo great..

I am so pleased Verity has got through and Lloyd

And I am so glad the three big girls - the mum , daughter and aunty combo, plus the operatic guys made it through...all totally excellent!!!

its funny how i am finding the youngsters less interesting out of the three groups..maybe its just my age!!! :D

but i do kinda like that Tabby one, woof woof!!!

mazza
10-10-04, 11:31 PM
Did anyone else notice a 'MaX Factor' ad during the ad break?? Verrry clever !! B)

Annabel
18-10-04, 11:10 AM
:badmood: I am so cross that Simon didnt put LLoyd through as one of the final three...he was great...and definitely better than Steve!

I am glad Verity got through though!

Eeyore
18-10-04, 12:48 PM
I wanted Lloyd to go through, was disappointed he didn't :(

And I did not want that Tabby or whatever you call him, to go through, Sharon Osborne, what are you doing? :o

mazza
18-10-04, 09:55 PM
I don't know WHAT Sharon Osbourne is doing!!!!!! She has put that really non-descript blonde girl through (I don't even know her name  ) and that buffoon Tabby - strewth!!!!

I am sad that the big feller didn't get through too  .

I think Louis Walsh might have it in the bag, I am glad of all his choices - esp pleased about the family gospel combo getting through despite their ropey start ! :D

I hope it carries on being so intriguing!! :) .

Beth
18-10-04, 11:23 PM
yeah Lloyd the singing coach should of gone through, he was a big man with a big voice :) I reckon some of them have already been offered deals that will come out after the end of the show ;) looket here at rowetta! (http://rowetta.bizland.com/rogallery.htm)

yess!! Fantastic!!! I loved the Happy Mondays - saw them loads of times and those piccies definitely brought back memories   :jump: !

I'd like to see her do well - good on the lass :D !

Eeyore
19-10-04, 09:38 AM
Think you are right Mazza, Louis Walsh's choices were the only ones I agreed with :D All excellent bands, and very different, I love the operatic type guys

Domestic Goddess

Why does Kate Thornton assume that all women fancy Steve????

Am I missing something? He's pretty average looking if you ask me. Nothing wrong with him, just not one to scream at etc...

That poor girl from 2 to go must be soooo fed up with everyone saying how wonderful her partner's voice is - I think she sings very nicely too. It's not as if she lets him down.

I have no idea who's going to win. Sharon's my favourite judge and I really like her nephew Terry (the stylist) and her vocal coach (who's name escapes me).

G4 are fabulous! :D

Not convinced with the Britney Spears song though tonight, although I thought it was performed well and certainly unique! :)

Domestic Goddess
06-11-04, 10:43 PM
G4 have fabulous voices, but I felt that "hit me baby one more time" was the wrong choice of song to showcase their talents. It came off a bit cheesy I thought which is a real shame as they are very talented.

Beth
06-11-04, 11:04 PM

I love G4 they are fantastic :notworthy: My Way was so brilliantly done :D

What was Rowetta crying about last night though? She was so weepy.

-P-
21-11-04, 04:26 PM
I so much wanted little Cassey to stay in the competition . . . she's so much better than both Tabby and Steve, it's just not fair.

G4 to win it.

Annabel
21-11-04, 04:41 PM
:D Id love G4 to win it, I thought they were great last night....and Rowetta was excellent as welll... :notworthy:

I reallt hope next week they ditch these awful 'judges decisions' its just not fair!

hollygolightly
04-12-04, 05:23 PM
So what do people think will happen tonight now there's only three left in?

I think...

- Tabby is supposed to be singing: Sailing and Pride (In the name of love)
- G4: Bohemian Rhapsody and Holy Night
- Steve: Have I told you lately (and something I can't remember )

I still think I want G4 to win - I'll have to vote for them tonight. :D
