The Big 'Hello'...
Day 1, 23:15
Friday 28 May

One by one the 12 excited housemates stepped into the Big Brother House.

First in was 21-year-old Marco from Middlesex who began nosing around, clapping his hands with glee and exclaiming "Oh my God, what the f***!? Ooh, a kitchen!"

He was joined by Ahmed, 44, who lives in Liverpool. They hugged hello and still Marco's high pitched exclamations continued.

Next in was 30-year-old Glaswegian Jason, wearing nothing but a bow-tie, slippers and a leopard skin thong. He gave his housemates a quick "How you doin'?" before Marco enquired, "What are you wearing? Are you a stripper?"

Then 30-year-old Dan from Hull came in sporting a natty trilby, shaking hands formally with his new friends.

20-year-old Stuart was next. "A giant leap," he muttered as he crept through the door. "Hey man," was all the Macclesfield lad said to the others.

The housemates guzzled some wine and made themselves comfortable.

The last of the boys to enter was 23-year-old Londoner, Victor who greeted his new companions with a "How's it goin', bruv?".

Next came the girls as the boys tried to play down their intent interest in the next six people to join them!

26-year-old Vanessa, originally from South Africa, was the first girl to brave the Big Brother House. The boys lit up when she walked in, especially Stuart. "Vanessa," she said simply before asking Jason, "Do you wear that round the house?"

Emma, 20 from Oldham followed with "What the... oh my... ooh my!" She was breathless with the excitement of meeting everyone. "Innit funny?" She said.

Next in was 24-year-old Brighton girl Kitten, wearing a naval outfit. She nearly didn't make it after insisting on finding her girlfriend for a goodbye snog, cut short when security had to physically lift her off the stage. "Hello! I'm Kitten. How you doing?" she said once she made it. "I think I just made a bit of a d*** of myself, actually."

And then came 23-year-old Geordie, Michelle. Dressed for Newcastle in January, she slipped in in a flimsy pink dress and hot boots. She opted for kissing and smiling for introductions.

22-year-old Shell didn't sound like she was from Glasgow, but that's what she says. "Nice to be here." Mwah, mwah.

And finally, the last housemate entered, 27-year-old Portuguese Nadia. After dropping the bombshell that she had changed gender and used to trade as a feller, but was planning to keep it quiet from her fellow housemates for a while, she sauntered in in a fetching white trouser suit and was embraced enthusiastically by all the housemates.

So they're in - and it doesn't look like it'll be long before the sparks start to fly.
