My favourite books at the moment are by Dave Peltzer,A Child called it ,The lost boy and A man named Dave,if you havent read them i recommend them,theyre very emotional .....made me cry! :cry:

Hi Lynn,

I agree, these are very strong accounts of Dave Peltzer's personal struggle and survival through what only can be described as one of the worst personal accounts of child abuse suffered by him, ever told.

They are blunt, to the point, honest and absolutely shocking accounts by him - and you have to applaud the guy for living through it all. Don't read if easily shocked, but for a gripping and true life account, a must read. :)

I dont know if I could bear to read it, although on many an occasion I have nearly bought the books....dont know if i am brave enough!

Reading the books changes you as a person. I don't see how anyone could read them and not be affected. I cried for this poor boy and held my own children closer when I tucked them in bed. I felt quite violent towards this boy's mother at times. I just cannot abide cruelty to children, it turns my stomach.
