I thought this web site would be a good place to start, for any one wanting to know how to protect their pc's from viruses.

The site is www.Tinhat.com.

Had a look at the site but noted that most of the information is from year 2000!

Interesting to note that viruses can appear in e-mails without attachments. Though I guess if you keep Windows updated this should not be too much of a problem. The same cannot be said of e-mail attachments.

Hi Paulvarjak,

Keeping your windows up to date is one thing, but DON'T be be fooled into thinking that is the only thing you need to do. It will stop some but others will still get through. I use Win updates several days a week, use a Firewall and Norton Anti-virus. All three need to be used. At the end of the day I suppose, it depends what you use your computer for. I use mine a lot it is only off when I sleep.

I thought the site was good for any one wanting to read about viruses, Hackers, and the law. People could learn the basics about viruses.

Remember that some viruses appear before the virus solutions appears on the Win update site.
