I think this album is very good, maybe not for everyone, some thoughtful lyrics.

Have to listen to it fully,
(especially last track, has two "hidden" songs after few minute gaps),
and give the lyrics attention to appreciate it i think, not so much "pick a song" music as it flows.

The second track "volcanoes" very good, although i think the're all good.

Hi Vernon :D

Have to say I've never heard of this artist. :artist:

Is it an album to drive to, drink to, laugh or cry to?

I'm always up for listening to new things. :) At the moment, I'm having a run on listening to one of Jackson Browne's albums - really enjoying it. It's great to sing along to, I think he wrote most of the songs about Ms Splash. ;)

hey holly :)

i would say its an album to drink/cry/reflect too ;)....and get pleasure from... and listening in the car is good too! ..specially the volcanoe one ..
The album has good lyrics about love 'n' relationshipy things, good because saying things in different ways, or what feel like "real" ways.. if that makes sense..and at least somethings said in a way to help understand some stuff that is not always easy to understand. Not for everyone i think just because of the style.. kinda man and woman with guitar music.. mostly quiet.. and not just bland mainstreamey, but still couple songs with a good beat too.
I'm sure alot of people would get something from it ... things said from different sides and not always "your" side, which i found good.

a fan site which seems much better than official. (http://www.our-adams-family.co.uk/emmett//default.asp)

Its prolly the best album personally i've heard, but definutly a "grower" .. like it more after listening a few times and getting a bit more of whats sung.

I always get David Gray/ Craig David (proper Bo, I tell thee :P) mixed up.

Sounds good though. I like music that you can sit back and listen to. Where you can actually hear the lyrics and understand them. ;) Unlike the boom, boom, boom rubbish (IMO) that comes periodically from next door (and virtually every other car that drives past me in the street).

Is he a new person on the music scene then?

New to me at least holly, first i had heard of him (and a her, a very good lady singer features heavily) was a week ago.

A friend lent me a copy of his album, looking at the site linked to above he's been around for quite awhile, album first released 2002 i think, not exactly into the music "scene" , not adverts and stuff everywhere, its a word of mouth type one
Would say its much better than david grey types sapph, much more the independant small singer/songwriter community type in ireland i think, your sister clearly has some good tastes
(although i don't really know much about david grey or his music so thats a guess)

Not to sound pretentsious... but its very much with feeling, mostly fairly quiet and "honest", like the're sitting in a room near you singing.

I also saw on that fan site he wrote/recorded/released the album all his self on very little money with no producer or anything.
[edit to an earlier post, at least one song with fairly good rhythm..its guitary acousticy mostly]

Yeah, its very much "hear the lyrics" music too holly, well worth a listen imho :)
