Another warning, give this bank an extremely wide berth, another nigtmare with them, this is the 3rd time now I have had problems with them, each time it has been different Department,

First it was their Life Assurance Department
Second was their Home Insurance, for which the Financial Ombusman had to write to them twice
Third their Mortgage Department.

So please everyone do yourselves a favour give these guys a wide berth and stay away from them.:rant:

I've heard that from a lot of people Isis...i'm definately going to move my current account, credit cards and the non-existant savings account but i'm stuck mortgage wise. I remortgaged 2.5 years ago, 3 months before i was made redundant, when i got a new job 6 months later it was near enough half my previous salary...there's no way in the world i can borrow what's outstanding on my current salary, that's why i kept it at RBS when the deal came to an end this January. I really dont want anything with Santander but fear my mortgage will have to stay, am not happy! :-(

Be warned its mortgages as well, we have tried to redeem ours today and its a real saga/. Basically Santander sent us through the details but the sort code was wrong, so could not use CHAPS to send the money, that would mean the loan would have been paid off today, did try but Hubby got a call and it had been rejected, 4 phone calls later with me loosing my temper somewhat, and hubby spent in total 3 hours in his building society, we had to send it by cheque, which of course meant that they get an extra 6 days interst on that, so instead of no interest we have had to pay for 6 days interest all because they insisted the the sort code was right, where as Hubbys building socity said it was wrong and also our local branch of Santander said it was wrong as well, but no no no the mortgage dept insisted it was correct and this is the short version. I am absolutely boiling with rage again! Incompetent nitwits putting it polietly.

Oh my goodness Isis, what a nightmare, my very first job years ago was at RBS, i worked for them for 3 years and they were bad enough then, that's an absolute disgrace, how can the mortgage department say that the code's right when the branch say it's wrong, anyone knows a CHAPS payment will only go through with the correct details, i'd be boiling too! Especially as they're getting another weeks interest for something that's down to their incompetence!!
