Hi All ! :)
Due to the many questions about "treen" I thought I would start a new thread.
Treen is antique wood that isnt given another name i.e. furniture etc, I started collecting bits and pieces about 2 years ago, and I buy and sell a few bits on e-bay (no profit though ! )
I love writing slopes and all sorts of boxes.
I will try to answer any questions although I am no expert ! lol
Adam
thanks Adam!
all I know about treen is the stuff I have seen on bargain hunt and progs like that
amazing how much money a little piddy trinket box can make!

Hi
I use beeswax to polish my wood you can get it in all sorts of shades but I tend to use neutral
old workboxes certainly are treen, as are desk ornaments etc

Hi Treenfinder, :D
Just wondered.......
Is it called treen because it's made from a tree? :)

hehe
not nosey just curious ! ;)
Smallest would have to be a mauchline ware box, a souvenir box with a pic of the lincoln cathedral on it, biggest would be a writing slope, brass bound.
I used to have a small "housemaid", a small wooden object for storing needles about 2" lon but I sold it on e-bay
Dont expect a huge shine from beeswax, its meant to feed the wood and put a little lustre on it to make it look "antique"

that reminds me I really out to get the beeswax out on my old pine funiture! my mum will kill me if she thinks I am not looking after it!!
I have a little wooden pig, does that count?
