View Full Version : My Bargain!
They are not places I frequent very often, but sometimes I do pop in to look for books, jigsaw puzzles, that kind of thing...
But today I spotted a neat Portugal Footie shirt just the right size for the older master Mazzas and bought it for the princely sum of £1.20 and I am made up with it!!
Have no conection with Portugal at all, but it's a smart shirt and the boys are really excited about it  .
Thay are now fighting over who will get to wear it this week at football training  :hihi:
I just had to tell someone about my bargain!!!

Sometimes I have I wander around the local charity shops for books and have managed to get quite a few at very reasonable prices. :) And it's nice to be helping a good cause too. :D

I once bought a pair of Next shoes in a charity shop, for a fiver! they were black suede and to my eye, looked brand new. i was delighted with my bargain! B)
i have also bought a school dress once for my daughter from a charity shop and very nice it was too, and when she outgrew it, i sent it back there!!!! :P
and now i am remembering, when i was a whippersnapper and renting a flat i bought a chest of drawers from a charity shop...and i think i gave that back as well , eventually... :) .
nowt wrong with having a little browse in these places now and then , especially if you are in a well to do area as i hear the amount of designer stuff you can find is amazing! :hihi:
I can remember many years ago my Mum bought me a beautiful skirt, I loved it and virtually wore it all the time. She got it for me from a local charity shop.
Last year a new friend of mine took me shopping and we visited some of the local charity shops. I got a beautiful suede skirt, and like Annabel, to my eye it looked brand new £4.50!!!!!!!!!!!! Bargain and I love a bargain.
I get the bags put through the door here with collection dates for old clothes and bric a brac etc and they coming to collect Friday morning, I have 9 bags stacked up in the garage for them of clothes
Hope that will benefit a good cause.
ahhh.........have tried to stay away from this thread but the pull was too great!!!
a couple of years ago my mum went to the royal garden party in a dress I bought her from MIND, it was about 4.99! she also found a hat to go with it from a CS and her shoes and bag were from when I got married,
she said in the queue to get in people kept saying how lovely her dress was and was it designer! she said for a laugh she put on a posh voice and said "yes my daughter bought it for me from a shop in leeds!!"
it was vey pretty, dark emerald green with two layers of green lace, ankle length, that was a good buy, she wore it to all her does until it started falling apart!!
my most recent best buy was my Dads xmas pressie! it was a silver jubilee ginger pot, complete with lid, not a chip on it! less than 3 quid and he loves it! (collects it all you see)
better leave this thread now before I have hot flushes, I get very excited about CS and my best buys!!
:wow:
You lot have found some crackers then !!
I also got a really sweet hand knitted jumper for my littlest one - Awwww it's obviously brand new, someone must have knitted it just for the shop :) and that was £1.20 too!
I don't frequent these shops very often, but can feel myself becoming more and more attracted now!!!

I know a few people that have got some really good bargains from the charity shop, but I've only ever bought a belt. Someone else always seems to get the bargains before me  I'm the sort of person who treads on a tenner and the person behind me picks it up :hihi: :hihi:
