View Full Version : View from my bedroom window ....
Outside my bedroom window we look onto our Palm Trees, albeit that parts of them are dying off :cry: but a few keep going! Anyway today when I looked out I had a surprise, on the top of one of the branches a Ring Neck Dove has decided to "nest" there. These birds are not all that clever as last year they nested on the bracket of our satellite dish and their eggs kept falling out!!!! She had one baby though :wub:
Hope they are luckier this year and the eggs don't fall out!!!
I wondered why I was being awoken early every morning by their calling and this is why they are so close!
Oh bless hope the eggs do survive :D

At least they stand a better chance of surviving :lol:
Hope so, although our front garden faces north it does get some sun in the morning and early evening so cooler during day.
Had the fright of my life earlier as I was making the sandwiches for lunch in the kitchen, back door open cos it's hot, there was this almight commotion and noise :unsure: and one of the doves flew in the back door turned right so as not to go into the wall and ended up flapping wings outstretched, in front of me! It was trying to get out of the kitchen window :blink: there was pandemonium for a few minutes as I struggled to open the big window for it as their wingspan is very wide (so I've found out) - the dove landed on my hand and allowed me to guide it out of the window to freedom :lol: it flew to a rooftop; don't know who was more frightened and bewildered the bird or me :unsure:
Well that's my good deed for the day :) not only do I feed them in the garden they come indoors for sandwiches too :lol:
