Some of the items seized by the council's noise pollution team
Televisions and stereos seized from noisy neighbours in Cardiff are being donated to the city's youth centres.
The equipment was confiscated from persistent offenders by the council's noise enforcement officers.
They deal with over 3,000 complaints every year with more than half relating to amplified music.
Meanwhile a housing association in Torfaen is warning noisy tenants they face being secretly recorded to show the effect they have on neighbours.
Both initiatives are taking place to highlight national noise action week.
Cardiff council said officers seized large amounts of stereo equipment and television sets throughout the last year following investigations in to persistent noise offenders.
They have been offered to its youth service for use in council youth centres.

The seized equipment is going to various council run youth centre
Community education officer Dan Wilson said as well as helping entertain the youngsters, the equipment would be used to highlight the issue of noise pollution and anti-social behaviour with those at the centres.
"It's not often that there is a positive outcome to anti-social behaviour in communities and it will be great to see the equipment being used in dedicated environments for young people," he added.
In Torfaen the area's largest landlord, Bron Afon Community Housing, is warning it now has a monitoring machine that can be fitted in someone's home to measure their neighbour's noise.
Community safety coordinator Denise Pearce said around 65% of the anti-social behaviour complaints the group dealt with were about noise.
"This machine will show the true level of noise so we can help those responsible understand the impact their actions are having on their neighbours," he added.
"This will hopefully persuade them to change their behaviour.
"If anyone continues to be a nuisance we will use the evidence in legal action against them."
