Poor Rita in Coronation Street, she is in a right old state since she gave that little beast Chesney a clump round the earhole! Now his demon witch mother is out to blackmail her for 5K!!!
I really felt for her, and I thought the script writing has been very good on this particular storyline...and it uncomfortably reminds me of my old KFH situation.
Mind you I do think its a bit unfair of the producers to make Rita go without her make up, I mean that is just plain frightening!!! :wow:

Annabel - missed it tonight :(
But Rita with no make-up  What a thought!
Watched it tonight. Poor Rita
I just SO wanted to punch through the telly tonight and wipe the smug grin off that Cilla's face.
Was the bit without her make up tho as she closed the cabin door? If so I missed it, phone rang
She's a good actress tho is Rita.

OOOh Maria, poor rita, she managed to hold it together and faced downthat nasty Cilla, who was saying she would get her in court and take her for every penny, and then after the old bat left the shop, Rita locked up and started crying! she looked really old and vulnerable...especially without all the slap!
but seriously, i know i am making light of it about her make up but i really felt for her, after building up a nice little business and doing her best, suddenly overnight, someone moves into the road who is threatening to destroy it all.
maybe we should invite Rita onto our forum so we can help her with this evil NFH! :)
this is a much better storyline than the one EE did on that noisy neighbour!
Come on Rita, give Cilla what for! :box:

I haven't watched Corrie for years but when I spoke to Pete Price on the radio he began ranting about 'this new one' who is a deadbeat mother. Totally lost me. But I saw a bit where Rita was in the police station and the bit last night where the awful woman was threatening to drag her through the courts and even I muttered 'The b*tch!!!' under my breath.
I think I'm going to have to start watching again.
I agree with Annabel. I thought the 'terrible Gavin' episode in EE was a big farce!!! Very disappointing!
Just as an aside, one of the kids who was bullying my daughter told her mother that I'd hit her while she was walking home from school. The fact was that she and her brother and cronies were threatening my daughter in front of me. The mother was waiting for me outside the school the following day. I pointed out that there was a woman walking along the road that day and offered to bring her along to prove the little madam was lying. You should have seen the little madam's face! She knew she'd been caught in a lie. The mother, give her her due, did apologise but I think it was more through embarassment at her daughter's behaviour than the fact that she'd believed her. Me? I was having visions of being hauled off down to the police station because I had no idea who the woman who witnessed the alterction was! Sometimes bluff's work for the righteous ;)

Not nice for you at all Misty. But you played a blinder, well done :notworthy:
I like Annabels suggestion. get Rita on here
Not a big fan of EE, find it way too depressing but Corrie - not very often I watch it but when I do I can honestly say I enjoy it.
I think Les will come up trumps here for Rita   come on Les :notworthy:

Help Help :o , I missed it, did anyone see tonites episode of Corrie????
I must know about poor old Rita! (i particularly need details of the make up situation  )
I am pinning my hopes on Les as well, but maybe also Fiz will sort her old bag mother out! :box: :box: :spor: :box:
Oh no, I haven't seen it since last week at all!
I last saw her drop off a comic at their house!
I am going to try and catch up on ITV2 - I think this storyline is excellent - has got me back watching :D .
In a way it's awful watching it - OK the acting's melodramatic, but it could so easily happen these days
I know this is about Rita and what the out come is going to be but can I just put in here about one of the funniest scenes (what i think anyway) in Corrie for me was the one where they had the Vicars tea party at Roy and Haleys cafe
There was Rita, Norris, Emily, Roy and they had all enjoyed the cake Vera sent along :hihi: :hihi:
:hihi:
Who has the face like a 'bag of spaniels'?? That cracked me up!!

The omnibus edition is on today at 4.35 p.m. on ITV2
The episode I missed this week was apparently one of the funniest ever as apart from Norris being on top (and very camp ) form... it also had Kirk serenading Fiz - by singing 'Im Slim Shady'
So I must see it this time round!
Saw Rita today without her slap on her face....oh heck mrs!! Mind you I only have to look in the mirror in a morning to see someone looking like that
Slim Shady rap had me laughing too

Top Notch Corrie wasnt it? Barbara Knox going well beyond the call of duty by taking off her slap like that - absolute class!
Come on Fiz you know you want Kirk! hes so sweeeet :kisss:
Annabel....
She HAS to pick Kirk :banghead: Tyrone only wants her because Maria didnt want him and she now has Nick. He is a good friend for her but that is all....can Fiz not see that
Back to Rita without her slap on........how many times have we felt that feeling that we cannot do something or have to get away cause of them next door
And you know what else........underneath his annoying and interferring old ways, I just wanted to give Norris a big hug when he sat down having a talk encouraging Rita not to give up.
I'm filling up now
btw have you heard Barbara Knox talk when she is not Rita and she is also well over the official age of retirement for men.
Top Notch - as you say Annabel
