The Inn of The Sixth Happiness is on today, on BBC2 at 6.30pm.

I remember this film from when I was very little...not an awful lot, but it's one of those classic true stories about a nun who is a mssionary in China and escorts all those children to safety in WW2.

Might not be able to watch it, but will definitely record it

I particularly remember that film because all the little Chinese children were recruited from Chinatown in Liverpool (listen out for the scouse/Chinese accents when they sing Knick Knack Paddywack) and it was filmed up in Snowdonia - somewhere that I love.

The film is good but the book is better. All about Gladys Ailwood (not sure of spelling) who was determined to become a missionary in China.

Thanks for the heads up Tri :)

Well as I thought I didn't get to see it all the way through. What I saw of it though was really good...will have to watch the tape when I can

Perhaps you could suggest to OH that they take you to Snowdonia for a little break this year? Or, China? :D
