"Maybe someone else could let it attack them instead."
"I won't get re-elected if I have this vicious animal put down."

That's pretty much what I was thinking plus does anyone have the address of this "farm in the countryside".
Isn't that what they tell the kids (voters) when the dog has actually been out down?
