A WOMAN threw a kitchen knife across a garden fence at her neighbours, after a dispute in Bridgwater got out of hand.

Naomi Lewis, 21, from Albert Street, admitted battery and possession of a bladed weapon when she appeared at Taunton Crown Court on Friday.

The court heard how a dispute between Lewis and her next-door neighbours, at a previous address, came to a head in February.

Janice Eagles, prosecuting, said during the early hours of February 24 one neighbour went round to ask for music to be turned off - where he came face to face with Lewis.
Lewis then spat at him after he had put his foot in the door.

She then went back into the house, grabbed a kitchen knife, and threw it across the dividing fence, where it hit the ground.

Simon Cooper, defending Lewis, said she no longer lived at the address where the offence took place and was still was suffering difficulties with alcohol, needing help and support.

Judge Stephen O'Malley gave Lewis a 12-month community order, with supervision, education and training requirements.

He said: “My hope is that with increased age and maturity you will learn to behave yourself better.”

Even if you miss with the knife you can be charged with battery.
