Hi -P-
I'm a sucker for any Christmas song :newyear: I'm trying to think of a fave, but am stuck.
Will give it a think......
:newyear:
Ooooo
I am too ashamed to admit it....but ...oh well here goes... Last Christmas by Wham!!!! It's so cheesy, but reminds me of school Xmas parties hehehhehhehehee
But I just have to say...I HATE hatehatehatehatehatehatehatehate Slade's one - I have to leave the shop if it comes on, the radio goes off if it comes on, I turn the TV over if it's on an Ad, I just hate the screeching and screaming of Noddy Holder!!!! :baaa:
I've just thought of another favourite (can I be allowed 2  )
Fairytale in New York - The Pogues/Kirsty McColl

Not exactly a favourite, but 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town' has been buzzing around in my head today. Must have heard in on telly recently.
By the way, just had a lone carol singer, must have only been about 6, singing 'Jingle Bells' - ahhhh, Bless! That's put me in a good Christmas mood. :)

Yup got to be
1. Fairytale of New York. Love the sentiments, can be quite poignant.
2. Walking Round in Womens Underwear. Nice catchy tune, music to snigger to.
3. Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer. A classic.

I like Fairytale of New York as well....
I dont know who this one is by, is the one that goes 'Santa Baby, Ive been an awful good girl', and then she goes on to list all the little gifts she would like, i.e. fur coat. flash car...Hurry Down the Chimney to Me...that always makes me smile
But my very favourite is the version of Winter Wonderland that Macy Gray did. Really excellent. It doesnt get played that muchwhich is a real shame! B)

Santa Baby:
Santa Baby
written by J. Javits and P. Springer
originally sung by Ertha Kitt
----------
Santa baby, slip a sable under the tree, for me
I've been an awful good girl
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa baby, an out-of-space convertible too, light blue
I'll wait up for you dear
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Think of all the fun I've missed
Think of all the fellas that I haven't kissed
Next year I could be oh so good
If you'd check off my Christmas list
Boo doo bee doo
Santa honey, I wanna yacht and really that's
Not a lot
I've been an angel all year
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa cutie, there's one thing I really do need, the deed
To a platinum mine
Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa baby, I'm filling my stocking with a duplex, and checks
Sign your 'X' on the line
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Come and trim my Christmas tree
With some decorations bought at Tiffany's
I really do believe in you
Let's see if you believe in me
Boo doo bee doo
Santa baby, forgot to mention one little thing, a ring
I don't mean a phone
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry down the chimney tonight

I have to ask myself why those from Pop Idols recorded the John Lennon classic "Happy Xmas war is over (if you want it) . . . . . they have murdered a brilliant song. :banghead:

It would be nice to think that there was some reason other than to make as much money as possible, but sadly, I think not (unless the record proceeds went to charity and we just never got to hear about it - if so, I stand corrected ;) ).
BTW - Slade....live - :banghead:
I had to even switch over 'the Office' yesterday cos that blasted ''song'' came on :frown:
Grrrr!!!
