I'm getting a bit worried about Molly's treatment of her surviving offspring. She carried her (we're fairly sure it's a her) into my bedroom today and after giving the little one a good ol' cleaning she proceded to play with it like it was a toy mouse or something. :o
I got a bit worried in case she hurt it. Talk about abusive mothers! I put them both back under the bed and later she carried the poor mite downstairs!! She is now lying on my bed while little Boo (short for Boudicca ;) ) is lying alone under the other bed :( I'm hoping she'll get the message when I turn the lights off and go back to her 'nest'

Sweetpea, thanks for that advice :) It's sad to see a lonely kitten and Molly is pretty good most of the time but she does seem to play rough. :o She didnt' have a very good start to her own life so maybe she thinks rough play is normal :P
We've got a tiny bottle and some special cat-milk substitute so if Molly does eventually reject little Boo we've got some back-up :) I remember having to raise some puppies when their mother died two weeks after giving birth. Sadly all but one of those died but the survivor was about the best dog our family ever had. I'm hoping the same will hold true with little Boo who will be the most spoiled kitten ever ;)

Sensible comments from SP. Just keep an eye on them, but reckon this will be to try and teach Boo to learn the things her mum feels she needs to know. Btw, if you do end up having to hand-rear Boo will already have had a good start with the milk she's already had from Molly....one of mine was hand-reared after the rest of his siblings and the mother all died, and was a very strong cat. Hope all goes well, Misty.

Mother and babe both doing well :) Little Boo is getting bigger by the day and her eyes are fully open now :) Molly still has bouts of 'lets-play-rough' but as soon as Boo squeals I have a word with her ;)
Hope Lily is continuing to improve :) Sending some huggles for her from Molly, Boo and Brian :)

Hi Misty, glad to hear kitty is doing ok, I think she will be just fine. I saw your pictures and she is just so pretty, what a beautiful cat she will be when she is full grown. she kinda reminds me of one of my old cats, sadly departed now, aaawwwwww.....

My daughter came in from work tonight and saw little Boo crawling towards Molly. "Aah", said daugher "she must be hungry" Er....noooo, greedy maybe, certainly not hungry. I've never seen such a tubby kitten!! She's not walking yet but I expect it won't be long before she's everywhere. Still in the 'wobbly head' stage right now :lol:
I've got some more pics which I will post in my Yahoo briefcase. Taken when Boo was asleep so as not to blind her with the flash ;)

I found out how to stop Molly's overactive grooming of little Boo. I fill a dish with her favourite food ;)

Am going to try and post a hastily snapped pic of little Boo. It's not very good quality because I used my webcam, but it will give you an idea of what she looks like when awake ;) She's still getting used to her legs and gets them mixed up a bit at times ;)

Sssshhh, don't say it too loud, she'll get all big headed ;) I think she's a little poser, just like her mum was as a kitten ;)
She's starting to develop a little personality now, she attacked my finger last night and savagely gummed it :P Also doing a lot of exploring albeit in a very wobbly fashion. I think I'm going to have problems with this one ;)

May I also introduce the newest addition to my family, my nephew, Leon....a real little terror ;). After spending Christmas and New Year with him, I remember that, cute as kittens are...I'm relieved mine are older now! ;)

Little Boo has definitely got explorer genes :o Twice today I've have leap to her rescue as she tries to find out where all these little tiny gaps around the house lead to!!! :o I can see I'm in for some fun times *sigh*. When her mum, Molly first arrived in the house she did a disappearing act on her second night here. We searched the house from top to bottom, pulled out draws, beds, cupboards, the lot. Couldn't find her. We really thought we'd lost her and were even contemplating the awful prospect of her lodged somewhere up the chimney :o
She eventually made a noise and we found her on the tv table, tucked right up underneath the bit of the tv that stick out of the back!!! We'd looked behind the tv and couldn't see her. Her hiding skills had obviously been honed when she was out in the wild. One of her favourite places was behind the wardrobe and that was where Little Boo was headed today :o

SP - Your Stinky sounds like my old manky cat - rancid breath and kind of stumpy too - and he was a rescue cat!
Couldn't even stroke him cos he would do what cats do and wash himself with his rank breath and it made his coat reek!!! 8-X
But he was so soppy and my boys adored him anyway! He used to follow them to school ! :D
And he lived until a good age too, despite the terrible teeth which were beyond salvation even when we got him. Thinking about it, it was about this time last year he died :cry: .

she has 4 little ones I think right at the back of her mouth, she was rescued too

I'm a big fan of rescue animals, most of mine have been rescued, one way or another. Save a life, and head for a rescue charity!

Except for Little Boo and my dog Snoopy, who were both born here, all my animals in the last 20 years have been strays. Except for my rat Henry who sadly no longer with us :(

:wub: Oohhh, Boo is sooooo cute! Ahh, she reminds me of my Big Puss when she was a kitten - give her a big cuddle from Aunty Bolsh.
Well here's Little Puss so all the pets can be together on one page.
He was a rescue cat too from the Cat's Protection League. Apparently his owners took a dislike to him when he was ill, they 'didn't want to pay the vets bill' :angry: Anyway, he's spoiled rotten now, of course :D

Yes, rat :) Henry was a really intelligent, loving, clean little thing. Rats get a bad press. I'd have another but I'm allergic to them as I found out after getting Henry :(
