A girl of 13 has been arrested after armed police discovered a converted assault rifle under a wardrobe in her house.
The teenager was quizzed by officers who were tipped off that her gangster brother had access to firearms.
Police from Scotland Yard's CO19 unit raided the flat on the Monks Hill estate in Croydon, South London, on Tuesday. The gun, found wrapped in clothes, is thought to be a "re-activated" automatic rifle.

Sgt Darin Birmingham said: "If you mess around with weapons we'll be at your door and you'll come face to face with an armed response unit. We won't tolerate the use of weapons in this borough."
Scotland Yard confirmed a 13-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of possession
of a firearm and has been released on bail.
Her 19-year-old brother was later arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm.
