Can anyone help me? Is there a website where you can get someone's name/address from a phone number?
I'm sorry that I can't say why I need this, I'm just wondering if it's possible.
Many thanks!
Hi DG don't know myself but there are sites; try searching for "reverse" phone

Is it a business number or a private individual?
it all depends aswell if that individual wants to be found, as they could be ex directory or what ever
I would always recomend that anybody should be very careful about how much information they have about themselves on the internet, if its just a cased of typing in a name into a browser  could be quite dangerous for anyone really, what with cyber stalkers and real life stalkers etc
I hope that all members are cautious with such information
If it is an unsolicited business number being a pest, there is a website called 'who calls me' or 'who called me'. If you Google it you will find it. Type in the phone number and it brings up the name of the business that is ringing you. I am always being bothered by companies like Talk Talk who use a local number and by a Will writing service using a local number
Thought others would find that helpful too :D

Hi SP
Sorry to hijack this post, but SP if you go ex diectory that should stop all that stuff "full stop" and if they do ring, just ask them how they got your number and say sorry not interested, good morning, good whatever and put the phone down.
Isis, I already am ex directory and also am signed up with the Telephone Preference Service!
The Will writing lady last week apologised and agreed to remove me from their list but the guy from Talk Talk was downright rude, told me they would continue to ring me when I told him I wasn't interested and hung up on me!
The site I mentioned is very good for identifying nuisance callers that are a business though ;)
How odd hun, I don't get any at all and if I do I am v poliet and bung the phone down, and that is it, perhaps a complaint about Talk Talk to their office would not go a miss. I had to do that once as a company told me that got my telephone no from my insurance company  I went mad, I only use 3 insurace companies and rang them immediately, they were furious as well, so we all compalined and that as they say was the end of that.

Being ex directory doesnt always work! I am ex directory and guess who I get phoning me up trying to sell me stuff? BT!!
I am with BT Sparow and I don't get any from them either, how odd.
I am like sp, still get cold calls though, you need to tell them they are breaking the law by contacting you,
another thing I do is just keep repeating hello hello, theres no one there it must be a prank call, then bang the phone a couple of times on my hand
doesnt stop them, but it does annoys them

I ask them to hold on for a second, put the phone by the TV speaker and leave it for 5 or 10 minutes.
Or .. ask them if they're interested in learning more about Scientology or ...
Or ... ask them to call back when the funeral's over.
We've also told Double glazers that we don't have windows, phone companies that we don't have phones and so on. (Might not work for the wills though -- I guess you can't claim to be dead already.)
It's amazing how many competitions you can win when you don't actually enter any.

As you haven't revisited this thread to acknowledge any of your replies, I assume you got what you needed? ;)

 Oh how very odd, you know I am sure DG has been online almost on a daily basis.
These one liner threads are becoming a little bit odd and cause for concern of late.
Very disturbing indeed, I truly am concerned, I really do hope all is well in the DG household.

I am here! Sorry about that!
I was just concerned that someone could find out my full details from having my phone number.
Thank you all for your kind help.
