Thoughts are with those people who lost loved ones at Hillsborough all those years ago.

My husband was actually there that day, just a few months before I met him. A staunch Liverpool fan, he'd usually head for a place behind the goal. God looked down on him that day because his brother's girlfriend decided to go along, so my OH and his brother chose to stand in one of the side pens instead.
He'll never forget that day, and I know today will be difficult for him.
:o Blimey sbrilliant, that was a twist of fate. I hope days like this aren't too hard for him. It's so shocking, even this many years on and so moving to see the memorial footage in the news today :( .
I couldn't even read today's newspaper accounts of that day without tears, even thought I didn't personally know anyone there. Those poor people, how terrible for them, and how awful for their surviving relatives :(:(
Bonkers Mad!!!

it happened the weekend before my eldest son was born. i remember watching it at my nans as it happened on the saturday. my son was born on the tuesday and i kept the newspaper from his birthday which was pretty much full from the front to back of the Hillsborough disaster. so so sad for everybody involved :(
Dreadful, so sad. I remember hugging my mum as it happened, both of us crying and feeling so useless :(
and even after all this time, despite holding their memories and respects, there have still been very few answers.
each individual who lost their life was not given an individual inquest, it was done as a job lot :( and there are still people now who survived who are dealing with the aftermath, both physically and mentally
RIP to the 96
