I've tried to like it. Each time I do try it I say 'never again'.

What I really hate is when hubby makes himself a marmite butty and leaves the marmite smeared knife of the bread board. His excuse, 'Well I might want another one later, no point using another knife' Grrrr. Wouldn't enter his head to wash it and use it again later...clean!!!

I don't know who the first don't mind it vote was cast by, but I have cast the second vote there.

It all depends on what's in the cupboards and how hungry I am!

Bovril drink is far nicer than Marmite IMO. :P

Absolutely awful stuff, even the smell turns my tumm, that and whisky!*# no great loss. If it was hot chocolate I may be concerned.

I was the first 'don't mind' because I don't love it or hate it and have been tempted on occasion to try it :P

BC, don't you like it then? ;)

Bovril is animal based, marmite is the veggie one, or veggiemite is very similar

it's made of yeast

LOVE IT!!!!!! BTW!!

looooove it!!

marmite is actually the byproduct of making beer!!

and being vegan i'd know about black strap mollasses too.. have a jar of the stuff in the cupboard collecting dust - that is the byproduct of making sugar and has all the goodness of iron and in a lesser form calcium!

mmm marmite.. my 2 year old eats it straight out the jar!! i thought that was *really* weird for a while.. till i found her eating mustard straight out the jar....

Yikes, spicy!

That reminds me of a young person I used to work with, with Autism. Who used to eat those huge jars of pickle and anything pickle related if your back was turned for a moment! I remember finding the person in question in the residential home's kitchen one afternoon where they had eaten a family sized jar of pickle onions in one go, washed down with half a bottle of heinz ketchup! :o All with absolute relish (pardon the pun!) it seemed and no watering eyes in sight!

Mhmmmmmmmm, delicious?!

Its surprising that children like such strong flavours when you wouldnt expect it. i remember my nephew eating bombay mix at the age of 1...

i wonder what his nappy was like afterwards... :P :)

and the mind boggles at matthew's mate!!!! he surely must have had more wind that the scottish highlands!!

Now I do believe HN that you whisky drinkers have difference of opinions about single malts and blended, don't you ;)

My ex-father-in-law used to drink blended, he said there was nothing better, but then again what did he know, he used to have it with cherryade!!!! Huh!!!!

Single, blended or which ever, yukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk no no no no

Give me sour milk anyday, as in the marmite advert

Marmite's brill!

Yum!

Was fair upset when it gave me heartburn when I was expecting the little uns, but luckily I can munch away to my hearts content again

Yummm!

Don't bother spreading it on toast - just dunk the toast into the jar or a great dollop of it on the plate !

:D
